Let me make this even clearer to you all
Battlefield 4: Released on 11/22/2013
For the year that it ran they had 5 DLC that gave you at least 4 new maps and 3 ish guns and other in game content. To much to look up. Also being a premium member had its on content separate from the DLC.
Game $60. Battlefield Premium $50
Total is $110. Which provided more content destiny could ever try to do.
Now on 10/21/2014, not even a total calendar year they made available what they called Battlefield 4 Premium Edition which cost $60 which included EVERYTHING from above.
So to concluded this you are bitching because new players will be able to get everything for $60. That you payed $95 for.
So step back and re-evaluate your action that you took on Bungie.
-Cheers!

Hey, do me a favor, look up really quick. See that floating above your head? Yeah, that's the point.
-
I think you're missing the point.
-
You reference the business tactics of EA to prove a point? Lol.
-
Defending Bungie's actions with Destiny by referencing BAttlefield... You just lost your argument.

IF I SHOWED YOU THE EMOTES YOU WOULD THROW MONEY AT THE SCREEN
-
What are emotes
-
Edited by Spiku: 6/23/2015 10:58:48 AMThings that make u throw money at tv screens. Emote: In MMORPGs with visible avatars, such as Everquest, Asheron's Call, and World of Warcraft, certain commands entered through the chat interface will print a predefined /me emote to the chat window and cause the character to animate, and in some cases produce sound effects. For example, entering "/confused" into World of Warcraft's chat interface will play an animation on the user's avatar and print "You are hopelessly confused." in the chat window.

Witcher 3 already has more content than Destiny ever possibly could have, if it ever manages to survive their 10 year plan ...i know those are two different games, but also 2 different companies with completely different attitude towards their player bases
-
When Witcher 3 came out everyone at Bungie sent job applications to CDPR and Bethesda.. oh wait, Bethesda already recruiting out the best Bungie talent.
-
Hugely different Budgets too...
-
i don't have a clue what was the total budget for Destiny neither i know what it was for Witcher 3, and i doubt the customers (i.e. players) do, and i also dounbt they care, what we see if the final product (i.e. game)
-
Witcher 3 Wild hunt $15 million. Destiny at $500 million for the "ten year plan" so From that we can extrapolate that about $100 million for Destiny. I care as an investor in games and games companies.

So you are ignoring everything that has been going on ?
-
-
Then why should he reconsider just because another game did the same thing ? Dice didn't make fun of casual and loyal players did they ? They didn't ignore the exchange rate with the UK where TTK will still cost £40 which is the equivalent to $63. They didn't force you to rebuy things just to get exclusives did they ?
-
Was there a $40 *new* DLC included in that $60 GOTY package?
-
Edited by The Town Drunk: 6/23/2015 9:49:10 AMSo you still want all the new players to pay $140 to be caught up with us?
-
That's kind of the point..... You don't. I'm okay with Bungie offering Destiny and the 2 DLCs for $60..... Not a big deal. But they're also getting the new DLC included. So either Destiny and the 2 DLCs depreciated to $20, or Bungie is reaching.
-
They are trying to plug the holes of their dying game. So many people have left and won't come back that they are trying to attract new players who have yet to be disappointed. It's like an employer firing their best employee to train a new college graduate to do the meaningless tasks that the old, better employee got bored with. It's called sustainability; all dying companies try to do it.
-
I see your point. I believe Bungie / Activision are just trying to reach for new people to play the game. But, at the same time, they thought the current players would stay and purchase TTK like we did back in the Halo days. Unfortunately for them, social media plays a big part in gaming today. And one of the hardest things to do is stay in a positive light when dealing with the many forms social media presents. They have to be more cautious about keep their current customers. If they keep us happy, we'll tell our friends and they'll join, they'll tell their friends and they'll join, and so on.
-
The problem with this is that battlefield released a GOTY type deal that came with ALL DLC that came with premium. The legendary edition includes everything from the game and season pass along with an entirely NEW piece of dlc. GOTY editions of games do not release with NEW content.
-
I hear you but people still want other to pay retail for the old that just doesn't happen.
-
IF I SHOWED YOU THE EMOTES YOU WOULD THROW MONEY AT THE SCREEN
-
I don't think anyone is expecting retail. I think what people would like to see is a price reduction because as it stands now $40 is a slap in the face to those that have been here awhile.
