It was completely unenjoyable. But for difference reasons than MY RANT ABOUT VoG. I'm really bad at PvP. I always have been. That's not the games fault or the other player's faults. I was bad at PvP way back in the days of Hale:CE.
Let me preface this by saying that I am delving into PvP strictly for the purpose of attempting to complete some Exotic Bounties, Bad Juju and Thorn, specifically. Bad Juju is going okay but I feel like Thorn is going to be a nightmare for me. I wouldn't play PVP otherwise.
I tried some smaller maps and got my ass handed to me. I tried some bigger maps and got my ass handed to me. The bigger maps did allow me to hide more and snipe but I'm just really bad. I've got Up the Ante with explosive rounds but it doesn't matter. I tried my "old faithful" go to gun Another NITC with sniper range and firefly and it's completely ineffective in my hands. Suros was useless for me. Red Death only ended in my death.
I did notice some internet issues, but nothing like I've been reading. There's not a lot of teamwork from what I've noticed. I've been shot at while a teammate stood right there and then ran off. Not bitching, just an observation.
Overall, not an enjoyable experience at all, but mostly because I suck at it. The rewards were alright considering it's just PvP. I'm dreading doing the crucible part of the Thorn bounty.
TL;DR - My first experience with PvP was horrible but mostly because I suck at it.

Yeah I didn't used to do so well at PvP either. But after practicing a bit and learning the maps (and getting better gear) I do pretty well. I had the same problem with the thorn bounty the first time I got it. It ended up just sitting in my inventory uncompleted for quite some time. But then I got some better gear and tried it again and it was a bit of a grind, but definitely doable. I find control works best if you're mostly a loner/don't have your own fiteteam going in, because it forces at least a little bit of teamwork. For me, the right weapon combo was void fusion (faster charge is better, impact not so important in PvP) and a void hmg. Best of luck!
