After reading the entire euro gamer interview and the recent Forbes magazine piece release today- hard to see bungie not addressing this soon. Apparently DeeJ has said there will be something better in store for current gamers, but they don't know what yet. They are scrambling to do damage control after this guy made them looks like corporate assholes.

READ---
An apology is not about Luke Smith, it's about bungie admitting fault. By him apologizing it means Bungie OK the apology and is apologizing trough him to a degree, while them apologizing directly would be ideal, that's not going to happen.
UPDATE ON DLC!!!!!----
Bungie has partnered with Red Bull and now an "Epic Quest" which originally os part of TTK is only accessible if you purchase a special can of Red Bull and get the access code. Otherwise you have to wait until mid-December to play it if you don't buy Red Bull.
Bungie requires Red Bull purchase for new DLC Quest
Bungie doesn't care about the consumers, only their money.
You now have to purchase 3rd party products in order to play something you will have purchased outright. Where does it end?
Edit- sorry for the grammatical error, should say HE.
Edit--
Why do all you fools keep saying "your sad to get so upset over a few emotes..."
It has absolutely nothing to do with the emotes. It has to do with the principle of respecting your consumers/clientele and not be arrogant enough to blatantly speak about such people as if they are idiots and will buy whatever shit your pushing.
This is 2015 there is no more "it's just a videogame company" or "he's just a designer"
Wrong. He is a part of a major corporate conglomerate and as such anything he says or does in the public eye (and sometimes private) it's open for judgement and criticism. That's just life today.
He gets no pass for being insensitive to his buyers.
Neither does bungie.
It isn't about emotes it's about expectations of a company to its consumers.
I guess the difference in opinions depends if your an adult with a career who understands business or if your a teen or college student. I would be pressed to say most career working adults with families would lean towards the understanding of how there was a fault committed from a business ethics standpoint.
UPDATE****
Luke Smith apologizes and TTK prices are changed....

So stupid
-
Sure and when he does he will mean everything he says why should he be forced to apologize he won't mean anything he says so let him think he is king shit head designer my arse he reskinned old enimies great thought process he is just a tool
-
Edited by Unforgiven: 6/23/2015 11:12:04 PMI think that not only Luke but the whole company should apologize for how they priced this expansion
-
You're a tool
-
That dudes probably had it before the interview. Just watch the e3 vid doc, " we know valus taaruc has too much health, we get it" : Luke smith. Just a product of this bratty childlike cesspool ungrateful community. If I were bungie I'd take the money and shut it down. Enjoy the game now blam yall!
-
Edited by RedPhotog: 6/23/2015 10:47:57 PMI don't think Bungie knows how to operate with the media. Luke's comment about us obliging to whatever a television shows in front of our faces proves this point. It's a personality failure on their part. Almost feels like they are constantly making up the rules as they go along. Hire a stellar PR dept and be done with it. Luke was way too defensive on TTK agenda, and it's because he's a developer. Don't show the chef who hates the menu. You're just gonna get a butt hurt interview.
-
No. Why should he apologize? He doesn't run the company and probably has zero say in dlc pricing and special editions. Maybe he actually thinks $40 is a fair price and maybe he doesn't but either way he can't say anything but "We think its fair".
-
I don't believe in anyone apologizing for something if they don't mean it. If he feels he needs to apologize then fine. If he stands by the interview and feels this is a big overreaction then that's fine too.
-
No but bungie should have had deej do pr
-
What for?
-
They should put him in a mo-cap suit, and kick him in the nuts... then give it to all the existing playerbase as an emote.
-
July 7th destiny players are asked to boycott destiny. We shouldnt have to pay for the maps we already have just to get emotes, shaders, and shit like that. And that luke dude is a douche!
-
Na he was just head in the could a about the issue. It's like talking to a ceo. They have a great way of not telling u what u just asked about.
-
No but if I ran the company I would fire him
-
For what? For telling us the truth? I actually think we should thank him for letting us know what they think their fans: mindless consumers that will "throw money at the screen" for something as stupid as emotes. What a fuking joke. I can't believe They let a goddamn jerk like him design the most vital part of the endgame when he doesn't give a shit about what the consumer thinks. He thinks we'll still eat up any piece of shit they throw at us because we're so easily manipulated. And the sad part is that most of us are.

Edited by Savage: 6/23/2015 10:14:26 PMThe 67% that said yes need a reality check and realize you're not entitled to shit when it comes to buying products from a company. Most definitely not a public apology, good -blam!-. Get over it people. AreYou really wasting this much time complaining about a couple items in a game that really don't do shit because you bought the product when it first came out? It's like buying the very first line of a new car and them coming out with a new addition with more features. Do you really think they give a -blam!- you bought it on day 1?
-
For what? Players are saying "take my money" all the time, what he said about money was a joke referencing that.
-
nah, this is getting out of control! it was bad, but ppl here are acting like he's the devil or something... just stop!
-
What happened with the interview is a perfect example as to why interviews should be held with people who can word their statements correctly. But honestly, Luke Smith is not the first person to dodge the answering of a question.
-
He doesn't need to apologize, and I'd rather he didn't because we already know what he thinks.
-
Apologize for whatttt,??,,,,,??????
-
He -blam!-ed up in work, why the hell would that need a public apology? He's accountable to bungie not the public, if anything the only thing that should happen is he gets some pr training.
-
Seriously it was bad but the fact you think public apologies mean anything is sad. The people who demand public apologies are twisted, in my opinion. You think he didn't mean what he said? Oh no you want to FLEX put someone in a lower place force them to lie and abort the truth so you can feel better about your day? How about if they give Day 1 players loot that squashes all this drama you publicly apologize by deleting your exotics?
-
Being a effective producer means your generate and edit projects to better fit a consumers values and budget.. bungie did neither
-
Edited by Zekestorm1: 6/23/2015 8:30:22 PMI get that many people are pissed about the way he delivered the responses like the way he said if he had something we wanted we'd just throw money at the screen that ruffled my Jimmies a little but he's not a PR guy and probably won't ever be again so... let it go is all I say. Moving on is the best medicine. Just buy the 40 buck one I don't need a dance slow clap is tempting but whateves.
-
If they lose a lot of fan base from the interview, I see him either being fired or blocked off from all PR ever.
