  • Assuming that what you intended to ask was how to help make gaming spaces [i][/i]more [i][/i] safe and not less, I think the greatest way to be an ally is to lead by example. Respect that there is valid reason women would want a safe space in the first place; understand that it's not about hating men, but rather about creating a respite from an often unsafe environment. Call out others who display the types of behaviors that make our environment unsafe, and be genuine about it - this isn't about getting props from women or getting on our good side; it's about being an empathetic human being. If you can, recognize that sexism hurts men, too - by prescribing what femininity and masculinity mean in such narrow ways, and perpetuating a fallacy that one is better than the other, we shove everyone into narrowly-defined boxes that hurt us all. There are some great organizations and online resources to help in becoming an ally, I suggest doing some research to educate yourself more about it. Does that help?
