1. Season pass didn't advertise a raid in HoW. That's has literally been proven many times. If necessary I can find the photo yet again.
2. No one who spent a little time actually taking about it actually believed there was going to be a free raid before comet (now The Taken King).
They told us that PoE was the end game activity for HoW.

Yeah it was on an email and a poster for GameStop... (Also datamined images but I won't use that as it wasn't "public") Sure not a ton to go off of but they also "pulled" a planned raid from HoW so that once again speaks to the fact that those two early things were pretty solid and on point... I didn't expect it to be free, but the fan boys were all defending saying its be free, so I used them for a laugh!!

I know about the datamined image, but as you said, that wasn't for public release and shouldn't have been relied upon. As for the email, I thought it was from GameStop, and we should have all learned by now not to trust GameStop about new releases and release dates. But I agree, all the "free raid" posts were silly.

The mass email adverts did promise 2 raids. That's because PoE was originally classified as a raid by the design team. You can go back and look at the data mined images and see that the HoW raid was called "The Arena." So there was no reason for Bungie not to advertise two raids. Things got screwed up when they decided that PoE shouldn't be labeled as a raid. Then the worst PR department in the history of gaming decided to announce "No Raid" in HoW instead of something like "New endgame content featured."
