I think it's pretty obvious. It all has to do with our solar supers. You see, the dull minded hunter gets a flaming, shiny gun. Because the hunters brain is comparative to that of a moth, they look onto the gun with almost religious zeal. Then they witnessed the power of the warlock's sun singer powers. The sun singer was shinier, and had more shiny spots. This, In turn, saddened and angered the poor dull hunters, causing them to be hostile to any warlock that has crossed their path.

Yeah I was truly mesmerized when I scattered that warlock into ashes, he self-revived and I scattered his ashes again.
Actually, in the beginning there were no Warlocks, just Titans and Hunters. The Titans protected the Hunters while on the move, and once a base was set up, the Hunters provides an over watch to protect the Titans. This is how the city was built. There's a helmet for Warlocks that states that the EARLIEST Warlocks wore CLOAKS to hide their identity. Something happened between these Warlock-Hunters, and our Modern-Hunters that caused a split between the two so large a whole new class was formed. In the end, Hunters didn't need to "learn" blink from Warlocks, and Warlocks didn't need to "teach" it to us. We both already knew about it, and over time, due to class beef rumors arose.
