Do we all remember the somewhat struggle of upgrading the Husk to the obsolete Nechrochasm? The idea of evolving weapons was your solution Bungie! But you missed your shot. Evolving could've potentially made this game a lot more fun; and it didn't have to be guns, armor too would've been fun to evolve.
I personally think most of the uncommons and rare gear look pretty beast but it's a shame that they don't get me to 34. Solution? Evolution!!!!!! You could use the same concept as the Nechrochasm for armor.
For example, you could introduce a new material that could be fairly easy to acquire but not as hard as etheric light for the casual player. And we could use that material in upgrading uncommons to Rares and then to legendaries perhaps?
Also you could integrate the etheric light concept at the end of the evolution if anything. Idk it's just something I felt would make customization and guardian uniqueness better in this game.

What a great idea sounds like something that'll be perfect for destiny 4. After you pay 500$ for dlc, updates, patches, reversed maps, and new re colored enemies and weapons. Also no more lines from Dinklebot.

I wanna evolve my ship

It could be like 5 motes of light to add a light level to your armor until you get to 32 light, then you have to etheric light it to 42. It could work since motes are kind of a dead end currency now. It's always miserable to get a really cool piece of gear but having to shard it because it's blue. If ttk weapons get light levels like what was shown at E3 then strike rares could get this as well. Maybe you could even do something to get it to legendary status and add the additional perks to it. Then there's the amazing idea of a multi stage branching quest that upgrades your Khvostov into a custom exotic weapon with a somewhat unique history.

Simply transmog items like in Diablo. Where for say 1 strange coin u keep your best armour stats but change it to look like whatever armour you want. Nice and simple. Just add 1 vendor that does this. I agree some of my green armour look so good. So many things bungie could do to make this mediocre game amazing but it's clear they don't listen. They can't even fix lag switching people from trials or won't give us more vault space so they won't do this their solution was to use light to upgrade legendaries so people didn't all look the same but all we have is the same looking toons with just 1 item varying.

Not sure I would introduce any more currencies, but I love the idea of evolving armor!

One step further! New armour and weapons should be a little better in SOME places, always better in their new area as/raids and NOT WORSE than old ascended rewards except in their special place (like fate bringer should always rule HoW). To upgrade and even squire the new rewards we should need to burn old rewards. New hand canon final upgrade needs a Fate Bringer. This keeps old content relevant and creates a reason to keep playing.

Edited by Bruce2K11: 7/18/2015 2:35:02 PMI like the idea. Or even a idea mentioned earlier like Diablo. Keep my Obsidian Mind stats but have the coolest Warlock helmet (RAM) look. Edit: Or have a full Exotic look. Omg

But the necro was the only living gun.

well said. bump

Sure but make it rare.

Dude. This is an awesome idea. Especially with Hive-style armor. The more it evolves, the more crusty death armor is added to the look.
