Bungie get your shit together!
Bungie, you seriously need to make a change to auto rifles in Destiny. Think back to the auto rifle nerf/pulse rifle buff. You said that you wanted to have other primary guns types to be used more often (Pulse Rifles) and that auto rifles were too common in the game. Take a look at those statistics and tell me how many people use pulse rifles and hand cannons vs auto rifles today. Nobody uses them.

They proceeded to nerf Auto rifles to the point of being useless, that's how much contempt these individuals had for AR's. Was it an issue of balance or pulse rifles not being used? Absolutely not. The nerf to Auto rifles was so severe that the only feasible reason for such a crippling nerf was a personal contempt for AR's. Someone nerfed them so judiciously and with such prejudice that they effectively rendered them useless. There is no such thing as Auto rifles in Destiny, only Auto paintball guns. Mission accomplished Bungie.

5 RepliesAs a top 30 player, ive played ALOT of Crucible and can without a doubt say that KackisHD put it perfectly. The glaring problem is the lack of variety that the Bungie balance team has introduced, when their actual goal was to achieve variety. Autos are underpowered, over this month of trials, i kid you not, i have never EVER encountered a single auto, and for good reason. They simply have no place in the meta, their TTK is far too long and they are countered by many greater alternatives in all situations in PvP. The most balanced weapons in the Crucible at the moment are pulse rifles, their damage and range fits their role perfectly, with the Strangers Rifle and Red Death being perfect examples of viable guns without being broken. The exotic hand cannons aren't as broken as everyone thinks; they're simply not working as intended. TLWs range stat is absolutely in no way indicative of the guns actual range/damage dropoff. You can also get the hip fire precision damage bonus while aiming down sights, which is a HUGE issue when dealing with ease of use and TTK. Often times using the Thorn i will get the final round bonus proccing at the beginning of the clip, as well as the second last and last bullet, making the amount of damage dealt in one clip absolutely horrifying. If the guns actually matched their stat trees and ability descriptions they would still be extremely strong, just not broken OP as they are now.

I completely agree with this. Remember the Vex Mythoclast? That was nerfed hard in both PvE and PvP, so much so that Bungie buffed its PvE stats back up a bit to compensate. Couldn't they do the same with ARs? I personally loved using my Shadow Price, which still sits in my Vault, gathering dust. I broke it back out in the Iron Banner, but it still doesn't bring me joy like it used to. Don't rebuff the Suros Regime; it is still potent. But the other exotic ARs: Nechrochasm, Hard Light, Monte Carlo? Those desperately need a buff. There's no point in using them over another exotic if they suck so bad. They are death fodder in PvP and even worse in PvE. Weapon classes should be utilized equally, not one completely neutered compared to the others. This is a huge problem in weapon balancing.

I never get killed with that thing. The burn is not that strong. The way Bungie handles all this nerf/buff-business is comletely wrong and absolutely test free, anyway. They have no idea what they are doing/don't care about anything but their own stupid "philosophy".

2 RepliesVery few Auto-rifles are useful post nerf. Suros Regime is the only one I can think of but there are so many more good exotics that it's not a viable for the 1 exotic slot.

I personally use auto-rifles cuz their amazing even tho their extremely sucky! i just wish i had monte carlo tho
