Title says it all. Businesses have the right to price their goods how they see fit. If it's too much for you, don't buy it. If you don't like what you get for that price, don't buy it. Ultimately the power to purchase or not to purchase is the only one you have as the consumer. Sure you have the right to voice your opinion on these forums. You can whine all day about how their marketing strategy to grow the player base isn't approved by you. Changes nothing. If you want those goodies you gotta buy em.
TL;DR: These forums are full of entitled children. Buy it or dont. The rest or us will enjoy the boom it brings to the social side of Destiny.

That and games have costed $60 for so long it's not funny.

I think, but I might be wrong, that the issue most have is bungie / activision think that $40 = £40 = €40.

Edited by SpectreMT: 6/19/2015 4:52:57 PMIt is all about the bottom line, not player satisfaction. You will never see or hear Bungievision admit this, but their active players (not registered players) have likely deopped significantly. This is what prompted the collectors edition "firesale". Bungie needs players. Since the current numbers have dwindled, the only way to get numbers up is to entice new players. When looking at it this way, the reasons for the CE pricing and content as well as why many community ideas and issues have been "ignored" becomes clear. We "day/year one" players must face the fact that Bungie could care less about our "opinions". We either pony up the cost of TTK, waste money on the CE, or we withdraw completely from Destiny.

And consumers don't have to buy a product they don't like, which is what I and many others will do.

You do realize, that when companies piss off customers with bad policies and pricing, those customers leave right? I mean after all, if it wasn't for communities voicing opinions, Xbox players would be "renting" their games on a console that needed Kinect to function. It's not the price itself, it's valuation of the product. Activision's valuation of Destiny is what people disagree with, and if they disagree with their wallets, then you get results.

You won't be able to enjoy anything is the majority of the community and players don't buy it at all because of the price, especially when other nations are paying more than the US.
