Nerf Gjallarhorn
Bungie has said from the get go that they did not want one weapon to be that go to weapon for all scenarios, but yet they have let Gjallarhorn be that one weapon that pretty much defines the whole game. I'm tired of these adult-children talking down on my children, cursing at them, kicking them from fireteams, etc. just because they don't have this stupid weapon. If Bungie really wants to achieve their objective of not making a single weapon special above all else, then they should nerf this abomination of a weapon, so that everyone will be on the same footing. Thank you.
-If you wish to feel special by commenting negatively on this post, then by all means have at it, but I will say this, grow up. I love this game as much as others, and I will continue to play for a while. This is not a rant, it is my opinion and suggestion.-

1 ReplyI was only 9 years old I loved ghorn so much I collected 999 of them and all the 3d replicas I pray to ghorn everynight ghorn is love I say ghorn is life My dad over hears me and calls me a scrub lord I call him a noob back He's just jealous of my high TTK He 360 no scopes me and sends me to rumble with no land beyond only It's cold and my KD hurts but I feel a explosive come into my room it's ghorn I'm so happy It's whispers in my ear "this is my cheese now" and puts me on at Crotas center platform I'm ready Ghorn fires My shoulder hursts so much but I do it for ghorn I can feel my shoulder tearing as my eyes water I hold down its force I want to please ghorn It shoots a mighty shot and fills the air with its Wolfpack rounds My dad walks in Ghorn looks at him straight threw the reticle and says "guardian down" Ghorn leaves and hides in my vault Ghorn is love, ghorn is life

the solution is not to ruin the game for players, destroy their play style, but instead to make it readily available. Xur should sell Gjallarhorn, no excuse.

Ok so I just got a gjallarhorn today from a legendary engram, ANYWAY the gjallarhorn WILL get a nerf EVENTUALLY but not anytime soon... Reason I say this because it really is a big riot now, they will most likely nerf it when there is another high DPS weapon to soften the blow a little bit... Now another thing, if you think about it, the gjallarhorn was and is the weapon associated with destiny. In its live action trailer, the gjallarhorn was used, NO OTHER EXOTICS, this being said: the weapon is already associated in our minds to have some sort of significance to the game if it's a pre release trailer... Why nerf the gun that symbolized it's early release and origins?

I agree with you on nerfing Gally or buffing other launchers to even the playing field. I personally avoid playing with children. Not because of what weapons they may or may not have but because I have kids and would not be comfortable with them communicating with adults I don't know. From my experience the subject matter discussed by many young adults and even some older ones would be damaging for kids below a certain age. That said I believe some try to temper it around kids but not all of them. Best of luck.

2 RepliesThese threads are usually created by someone without a Ghorn. Bungie had things with Skolas right the first time... when we had Arc burn and Void burn, the Gjallarhorn was not a cure all problem solver. When burn damages are neutral, then you want a weapon that does the most damage. Gjallarhorn will always be that weapon because of wolfpack rounds.

People will talk crap online regardless of having Ghorn or not. That being said, if you are so concerned about how your kids are being treated online, then don't let them play. Simple as that.

Quit saying the word nerf. Say buff to other items. Don't follow in WoW footsteps it why I quit the game. You get something you enjoy then they make it useless. Such a bad development decision.

Eh. The weapon is truly extremely overused, but if you look at Bungie's history with Nerfs, it's always because of PVP, not PVE. Destiny has a toxic community. If you wanna protect your kids, I have no idea how old they are, you may wanna consider trying and filtering who they play with. Asshats will be asshats with or without Ghorn.

It's bungies fault, making things higher levels to increase difficulty as opposed to making things more intricate. Like vault of glass. You don't need Gally for any part, but when crota came out. It was a a curse having gally, you got to just stand there and wait to shoot it, cause I like doing sword. And it's even worse with POE since it's all about DPS.
