You still have to farm reputation, which isn't easy without being able to do the high level nightfall or heroic weekly, you have to do the vanguard or crucible playlists, without a nightfall Exp boost, and hope you get some legendary engram drops, which will boost you enough to do higher level playlists or maybe the vault of glass, or you'd have to get extremely lucky and get etheric light to ascend the drops you got, but in order to have gotten to play all the dlc and story they got, on 3 characters should they choose, and then the taken king, it'll definitely be at least a month, for a new player with that new addition to get the same experience I have over the course of a year with every activity available
