My clanmate found a semi reasonable solution. Buy the whole package and return the original destiny disk. You get $20 back if you return it to gamestop so you are getting everything for the price of just the dlc.

I can honestly say destiny has the stranger bit of supply and demand I've ever seen for pretty much anything. The supply is there but the demand is bipolar and the return rate is overly efficient for something so highly sought after. It's like buying a box of cereal only for the toy inside then returning the box and someone else considers buying the same box. I just don't get it lol
-
Yea haha so true
-
Take it from a former gamestop employee...by the time this launches the buy back will have dropped to maybe about $18. Then with the amount of people trying to do this there will be an over stock of the game used and the price for buy back will plummet.
-
That's why I already returned them. If you didn't read the whole post I have a digital version as well.
-
I did read the whole post What I said was more to inform other people thinking of doing the same thing. As in act now before it's too late

Edited by d GMAN b: 6/20/2015 7:07:17 PMYep. I wasn't trying to be rude or condescending if it appeared that way. I was simply trying to spread the word and you are completely right. A friend returned one today and only got $18.
-
I didn't think you where no worries *cheers* And I'm not surprised by the drop I bet it goes down more
-
I'm guessing like 12 dollars by ttk release. If it went down a week of ttk trailer release then who knows how low it will go.
-
I'm guessing it will hover around 12-15 for credit less for cash
-
Yea, unfortunately it's how it is, especially for us beta/day one players who get screwed over on the packages.
-
Yeah can't believe they are stiffing the day one players :/
-
It might just be a few select of us who think it but I feel there should be a package that is the same price as the legendary/collectors edition with the same bonus items like the exotic class items and the strange coin replica that instead of ttk with all of the previous stuff, has ttk and all of the future dlcs. Like ttk and a season pass for 2016. That is something I would buy and I would get the same stuff the new players are getting. I feel like being a new player vs being a day one player is way better because what incentive do I have to by ttk other than to play it. New players get all of these new cool in game and irl bonuses. I want all of that stuff too but I don't want to buy everything I already own to get it.
-
I could get behind it if I was promised with no set backs or changes at least 3 more DLCs thru 2016 including TtK and collectors for 59.99 Anything more than rant is ridiculous. It's add ins to an existing game not a new game each DLC
-
Yea. Well what I was talking about would be something comprable to year 1. You get ttk, 2 dlcs, and all the bonus items for $59.99. To be honest I would even pay $80 for it. That puts my overall money spent on destiny to $175 because I bought the first season pass but I find that to be a fair compromise to how bad they are screwing us for money on their end. Just some sort of package for people already playing. I personally am a collector so I want all the items I can get. Why should I spend extra money on stuff I already own to get the few things I want. That's like saying I like Honda rims and digital spedometer so I am going to buy a Honda Accord and put the rims and spedometer on my Chevy cobalt. It just doesn't make sense.
-
My idea was just to sell the disk to friend or on Craigslist. Get more from it that way but that way is more dependable.
-
They won't take destiny around me
-
Bump but reply so I can view this later
-
-
Tell your clan mate that's he actually quite intelligent and his idea works
-
Not if you bought the digital version like most ppl did
-
Oh I did and our entire clan is going to save money. I have 2 discs of destiny and a digital download so I will be getting ttk for free. I got the digital download for free from a friend and got both discs together for 40 dollars so yep. I win bungie, screw your way for trying to overprice things.
-
Haha yea
-
Trade in is 18 cash is 14. And that's IF they buy it back for that much in 3 months.
-
In 3 months it'll be $4
-
That's what I think lol....
