Most gaming companies that do stuff like this actually provide options to their "loyal fans" And saying they is a flat out lie, and using price depreciation of games is not an option since they are apparently valuing their game which sells for $40 at only $20 if you do the math for their options which means any resale on that would be around $5-10 max when TTK drops.
