Bro bro .... Bro....
You paid 60 for destiny ... 1 year ago, 20 for expainson 1 and 20 for expansion 2. Played the Shit out of them ..... And you expect double the content to be .... Less?
Let us use you phone example.
1 year ago you buy a new phone, then buy memory expansion, then a hardware expansion.
Now a year later the company produces what you have already done, in piece meal, in one complete bundle and discounted it to attach prospective buys as the markets begins the turn toward the shopping season.
Sounds like a regular market move to me and a price of being on the bleeding edge.
Be happy, hopefully more people will pick up the game.

The expansion pack are worth 20 maybe even 15 and all of a sudden they drop not even a year yet I smell scam
-
Scam? You as joking right, this is economy 101. You sell something at a inflated price, eg the expansions. Then build hype and sell if for a normal price to give the impression of a deal. Eg taken king bundle.

Lol you act like you know it all but you clearly don't most companies don't use lies to boost sales on cut product. Now I know there's few out there that make a living on false ads (Bungie/ Activision)

Edited by GigabyteZ3r0: 6/18/2015 2:46:51 AMDear sir, how the hell did you get the impression that I know it all? My statement was a clear point of fact, a basic economical tactic. If you are referring to Bungie and saying that they have lied, I would direct you to all the statments that said "not the finished product". If the consumer wishes to make an assumption about a product you can not really hold the producer responsible. In order for something to be false it can not be partially true. All game ads are particularly true. The satement that Bungie and Activision make a living off false ads, is an exaggerated claim, they obviously make a living off of a strong business model that may not have the most sound moral standards.
-
Oh yeah man activison and Bungie have a strong business model in lying to there fan base.I can't believe you actually believe that crap, but hey you keep falling for activison and Bungie shady marketing scam
-
You seem to have missed rule number one in business, make money. Both Bungie and Activision are business and thus, they must be profitable in order to survive. Personally, I don't enjoy the vast majority of Activision products. But I am unable to get a similar product else where, which is the reason for me buying destiny and the expainsion pack. I also think you need to learn what a scam is. scam: A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle. Bungie is selling product, with double the content of the previous 2 expansions for double the price of each, or the combined price of both. Seems like a legitimate product sales. Where is the scam?
-
Scam you have to be blind not to see that this is a scam a marketing tactics just to boost sales.... Sigh* sadly I'm wasting my time on an oblivious consumer that likes the short end of the stick, a person who gets the middle finger by the big companies so I-bid-you-a-due
-
Look man, I am being nice. Do I like the way things are, nah. But I understand it is a business, unlike you. If you think it is a scam, prove it. There are federal laws against scams. If you are too arrogant to see that the entire purpose of the 60 bundle is to entice new consumers then you are a blind fool. You are making a massive deal over, what 40 bucks. In a year if you have no gotten 140 dollars worth of entertainment from destiny, that sucks, but ... shut up and suck it up. Business is business.

"Scam"yes the biggest scam on gaming history is in 25.86 gbs (roughly with out dlc)on your hard drive

Phones are different. It takes more than one year for a phone to significantly drop in price and also, older phones can still be current without needing new updates

Any product devalues after a year the amount varies from product to product. In the video game market when profit margins are high and the cost to produce the physical product are minor price drop are more often and greater. The analogy was to make reference to the time factor, the op gave the impression that the bundle item was being purchased shortly after, when in reality the time variation is a year. Which in the video game industry is long enough to see an item's worth cut in half.
-
I see but some games like super smash bros brawl don't go down in price for many years. It stayed at $50 for many years
-
This is the reason why video games are different. A unsold copy can retain a high value, but the moment you purchase it, open it and play it, it devalues. Try it, buy a game, go home, and play it. Then try to sell it back to a game stop, I assure you, it devalues. I agree I feel that taken king should cost less. However, me complaining will not change the outcome.
-
Then what will change it? Silence?
-
Edited by GigabyteZ3r0: 6/18/2015 4:20:26 AMThe concept that it can be changed is a foolish one. We, the consumers are responsible for the current environment. We support gamefly, game stop, pirated copies. A business only makes money from the initial sale, so to combat the resales lose they developed DLC. All those second hand purchases and rentals have brought us to where we are. Companies now expect to make more money off the DLC, because that can not be resold, or rented. You want to change it you have to change gamers mind set first. This is not a social injustice, this is not suffrage, this is not the holocaust. This is business, the moment DLC are no longer profitable it will change.
-
I understand what you are saying but GameStop imo is not a good example as GameStop is a business and just wants money so they try to buy the games cheap to make their money back.

Everything is a business. Bungie is a business. First rule of business, make money.
