Everything I already own, plus the Taken King ... Or:
Buy $59.95 for Destiny - original game
Plus $39.95 for expansions I and II
Plus $39.95 for The Taken King 'pre-order'
-------------------wait for it------------------
That's $140 pretty much for the same thing as noobs can get for $60.
Thanks Bungie. I've enjoyed your game. Seriously. It's a lot of fun. I'm not kidding. Check my hours played. More than most, I can assure you that.
And, what's my thanks and appreciation for supporting your game along the way?
Getting screwed over to the tune of more than DOUBLE THE PRICE that someone will pay today.
How the hell does this make sense?
You should actually honour your most loyal customers with The Taken King as a FREEBIE, or at the very least , a DEEP Discount. (Maybe $15 instead of $20, but certainly not increase it to $40, that's just plain back-asswards).
"Here you go guardian. As a token of our appreciation for sticking with us through the first year, for buying the base game, for getting the first two expansions (which may or may not have been disc-locked content), for playing through the glitches as a live feedback forum for our programming errors, for the buffs and the nerfs you've endured, for the lag and for the heavy ammo we took from you every time you spawned... We would like to present you, as a gift,
Your own Edition of The Taken King.
I'm not butt-hurt by what's been paid so far. I'm f-ing choked that a newb will get all that and more for $60.00, and that it will cost me another $40 on top of what's already been paid, just to keep up with the BUNDLE-BABIES of 2015. Should be $15 max (free preferred) for the players who already have all the prerequisites.
BUMP if you agree with even one part of this.
--- out ---
EDIT:
Geezus. For those of you who agreed, thanks for understanding my point. For the rest, here's an example:
You all have cell phones. If you don't, try to imagine having one.
Buy the latest phone. Then pay for an upgrade. Then pay for another upgrade. Then pay for another upgrade.
Your buddy goes and buys the upgraded upgraded upgraded phone, AND GETS THE ORIGINAL PHONE YOU PAID FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE GIVING TO HIM FOR FREE AS WELL... For less than half the price too!! and as a freaking bonus, he also gets the charger, the headphones, the protective case and limited edition sticker to proudly display on the back of his Kia Soul as well !!!!
Does that help even one of you naysayers get it?
Edit 2:
For those that say "Isn't this how all games do it?", the correct response is (I'll succumb to Godwin's Law for some of this I'm afraid):
Did slavery come to an end?
Did the holocaust come to an end?
Did the USSR come to and end?
Did the wall in Germany get torn down?
Pick a metaphor... The choice should be your own.
Just because that's how it's always been done, simply does not 'de facto' make it right!
Edit 3:
Your responses have been mixed. Fine. My post will not be all or end all. I appreciate what most of you had to say. For clarity I do not compare the edit 2 metaphors directly to this video game. But, to be offer a piece of advice to those who thought I meant something else:

I believe that a company this big and profitable can do better than the companies that came before it.
There will always be change. Who will do it first?
Edit 4:
You'll be impressed... I've listened and here is my last ( probably not) contribution to the argument:
Bungie can rename the DLC to be
$39.95 for the DIGITAL BEND OVER EDITION* for those of you who already have the original game and the first two expansions.
We will send your guardian an in-game bottle of lube. It will be waiting for you in the special orders.
* There will be no reach-arounds or discounts offered.
Edit 5:
Please stop buying next year's car at half of last year's pricing!!
Edit 6:
There were Alpha players
There were Beta players
Then came Day-1-ers
We can call the next gen the 'Vets'
Along comes Xmas Noobs
Since then we've had a few Kinder-guardians
But this latest generation will forever be known as:
THE BUNDLE- BABIES
I do not take credit for this nickname, the original poster is down there, buried somewhere in the responses to this thread. Go ahead and find him/her, they deserve all the praise.
If my post succeeds in nothing else... BUNDLE-BABIES SHALL LIVE ON FOREVER!!!!!

EDIT 8: Looks like my rant was 'all' right on the mark. The failure on the price point. The failure in exclusive content. The failure on needing to rebuy items I already own.
Many Thank to Eurogamer for taking the time to interview Luke Smith, and get to the bottom of all these inequities.
We shall see what the weekly update holds for the year-one owners of the game. I bet it's not much!

Bump this shit!!!
-
Mate. Us British have to pay £35 for TTK. $40 is only £25.
-
I paid about $100 for the game plus the first two expansions. I know Johnny-come-Latelys get to buy the game at a cheaper price. So let them buy it for $50. That includes the two expansions. But make them pay the full $40 for the DLC. Or let us who paid full price for the game and expansions get the DLC for $20.

I have no idea how you can possibly complain.
-
I think the original price of the game would be a bit less now (I saw it used for $30 on Xbone) but the DLC's should stay the same. ~$40 for the original game + $40 for two DLC's + 40 for TTK would be $120, which is still a deal, but not half of that like bungie is trying to do...
-
Bump.
-
-
Stfu you played hundreds of hours and complaining? Get lost dude you can't expect something to be the same value it was a year ago. When they released all the crucible maps to everyone from the dark below a few weeks ago it wasn't an issue. Go get a job.
-
-
I just don't like how u gotta pay 80 for the exotic class items n shaders and the game with all Dlcs wich I already own , the should have put the exotic for the price of 50 with just dlc
-
Well you had the content while it was still relative and new. People buying the game have so much to make up
-
-
First of all its a year later, secondly the limited edition emblem with a XP boost means you can't wear exotic armor...so yeah if you wanna give up your armor perks be my guest
-
Here's the deal: they want to make it as enticing to new players to get on board and make as much cash off them as possible. Your point is that they are shafting the players that got them to this point and you're right. What they have shown as exclusives for the people that only need TTK is lacking. There should be more for the players that have been around for a while. They hinted at more so here's hoping.
-
Why do ppl not realize that they have to start like a lvl 1 and find friends to help them while u basically can have everything till now before TTK comes out? Not trying to hate but the way ppl complain is ridiculous u can correct me if im wrong. Not trying tk bring hate here
-
Bump I don't know about free though activision wouldn't let them. It sucks but it's good business for them
-
Are you that dumb really? Do you honestly expect new players to pay full price for a year old game?
-
This reminds me of BF3 With Premium editions going on sale like this 2 YEARS AFTER RELEASE NOT WITHIN A YEAR
-
-
I'm sorry but you are being ridiculously over dramatic by comparing a video game to the holocaust or slavery. You destroy any credible points you might have had as soon as you do that.
-
Fallout 4 comes with Fallout 3, Gears of War comes with all the old games and maps, Halo: Master chief has all the old games and maps etc etc yet no one is complaining about that?
-
You have barely any hours on this game first of all. Secondly NOBODY EXPECTS TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR A YEAR OLD GAME WITH HALF THE CONTENT ALL LEGENDARY GEAR EXCLUDING RAID AND STORY VENDOR GEAR IS UNATTAINABLE TO THE LEGENDARY EDITION GAMERS. THE IRON BANNER ORIGINAL ARMOR AND MOST LIKELY ORIGINAL TRIALS SET AND WEAPONS WILL BE GONE. SHADERS, CLOAKS AND EMBLEMS GONE. -blam!-ing Idiots
-
Here is my take on the situation- I have no issues with the bundle price of TTK. Stuff depreciates in value over time, and this game is no exception. I do, however, have an issue with the asking price of the DLC, and with the fact that there are in game exotics for the Collector Edition. Firstly, the DLC price is too high. Bungie has shown that they are unable to deliver content equal to their asking price. This DLC was a perfect opportunity for them to prove that they can create a well-thought out, fairly priced(10-20 dollars) DLC. Instead, it just goes to show that Bungie will continue to deliver over-hyped, poorly planned dlc until this game dies. Secondly, the ingame exotics for those who buy the collector's edition are dumb. The fact that these things are given to people who either just started supporting the game, or who were forced to shell out 80 bucks for some content that they already own is absurd. Vets are basically screwed in this area, as they have to shell out 80 dollars for content that they mostly already own. New players get the advantage, as they haven't supported destiny up to this point, and haven't spent any money. Essentially, these items need to be included in both the collector's edition and the veteran's packs. From what Bungie has seen in the past, I doubt that either of the issues will even be mentioned. Bungie won't learn until it starts to lose players.

I love how many people on this forum have absolutely no idea how technology works. As technology gets older, it loses value and becomes cheaper. My family bought one of those nifty 46" projection TVs back in 1993 and it was almost 3 grand. Now today, you could buy 3 46" 4K TVs and still have enough left over to find one of those projection TVs in a garage sale/flea market. When I first bought a DVD player it cost me around 400 dollars, now I could buy 10 of them for that price. IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! I really wonder if people who post threads like these are really this dumb or are just posting to get a rise out of others.

Better than this...
