The esrb does acknowledge that it is okay with parents permission, but regardless it was not the game content, but the online interaction which is not rated. You can cone across that behavior in an e rated game.

I just said that in different words. My point was that with that logic, all online interaction should be taken out of rated e titles, which would be silly. Rather, we should not pick on 11 year olds and laugh about it because of how "mature" we are. (And no, I am not saying you are doing this :) )

Its not the game, its the people that were the issue here. Anyone of any age can be online, so you would have to cut them off from the internet entirely for that to be avoided, even in e rated games. The big issue here though is not the kid. Its the adults who think its okay to pick on a kid, regardless of if they think its okay he is there. You wouldn't treat a kid that way in real life, but I have to deal with supposed friends picking on younger players all the time. I constantly have to remind them that they just cussed out a 10 year old or something, which is not okay. The focus here should not be the kid, but the irresponsible adults, as the kid had no problems with the game itself. Not to mention a lot if the people who are advising this kid to stay out of fireteams are the same ones who tell people that matchmaking isn't necessary because the kid should use lfg. Tl;Dr Its not about the kid, its about the jerk adults acting like kids

What is your point? The rating system is there for parents, not kids, and for the seller to be able to say "we warned them it was over the rating for their child" or whatever.

And the kid obviously couldn't handle it.
