JUST NOW MY BROTHER BEAT SKOLAS AGAIN-AND GOT REWARDS THIS TIME!
My 11 year old brother came to me in tears just now. He had just beaten Skolas with two other guys and IMMEDIATELY got kicked right after Skolas went down. Then, this guy invited his friend to get the rewards, and started being a complete dick to my little brother for no reason. My brother said they called him "really mean names," and I frankly don't want to think about what that could mean.
Why do people do this? I don't understand. I don't care if it's the Internet and people can be dickheads over anonymity, this is horrible. My brother shouldn't come to me crying because of some dickhead loser kicking him from the treasure room.
Edit: to those who don't believe me, check my bro's history "Donald Doge"
Edit 2: bro just told me he was kicked right after Skolas went down, so he didn't even get the drops. I had gotten that part wrong, but I edited it now
Edit 3: Someone researched this guy and apparently he's the Xbox Live version of KirmitTHEFrog, he kicks everyone and invites his friends after completing activities. I can't post gamertags, but if you could do me the favor of finding my bro's Skolas match from earlier today and report that guy, it'd be great
Edit 4: I can't believe this community. The kid who glitched and got his characters deleted got nothing but support, yet my brother who beat Skolas, got kicked AND cursed at by adults is being told he shouldn't have been doing that. -blam!-ing really guys? I'm done with this site. Yeah, I should've monitored it better, I'm doing that from now on, but seriously?! I doubt many of you have kids or younger siblings. Smh

I have 11 years old son who plays Destiny with me. Not so much lately, summer is at our doorsteps, so he's more in the park as he should be. To the point - why would you or your parents let him go to the parties with strangers? I have a bunch of friends that i met while playing Destiny and we had a gathering in my town, and i brought my kid. They are all nice guys and i let him play with any of them anytime he wants ( i am making sure that he doesnt bore them or whatever, he's a good kid, but still a kid ). I have met many great people in this game from my country, and from all over the world, and today, after like 10 months since the game is released, we still play it together whenever we had time. But also, there are all kind of trolls and assholes in this game and i would never let my kid play with randoms. There are all kind of people and i would not let anybody in real life, and even less on the internet to traumatize my kid. So if he can play with somebody that you play with, or someone that is his age, or his friend, fine, let him play. Otherwise, sp or crucible without party chat or different game. That's how i feel. One other thing - as a day one player and Destiny player that did so many times all the things that game has to offer - 1. Even if that guy kicked him from Skolas after they burned burned him, he would get elder cipher or a weapon, it drops instantly, i dont think that Flash would have time to kick him out before he gets that if he gets, its random anyway. 2. No one would be able to join afterward, the game just wouldn't him. Even if you want to join during Skolas fight, you can't. Your team has to wipe and you have a few seconds window to jump in and start the fight from the beggining.

I'd be happy to help him if he is on PS4 Add Dark_Warlock898 and send me a message.
-
Lots of -blam!-in adults in the world, i looked at the news someone died im happy...the purge

Edited by Capt NSFW_Beard: 6/18/2015 1:22:58 PMSorry but your little brother is lot telling you the whole truth. It's possible he was kicked but not possible they brought in another friend. You can't join the skolos fight unless the fire team is dead... The real sketchy part is how he found these guys? 11 year old on the Internet talking to grown men? Sounds like you need to stop bitching on forums (where nothing gets resolved). Now go be a good big brother and help him find a clan with members his age and watch some How to catch a predator..
-
Don't you have to replay skolas to invite someone for the final checkpoint
-
Really sad to hear that people do that :( give your little brother a hug and tell him to hang in there. Some people are jerks but there are still some good people out there.
-
I'm sorry to hear that. It's said the lack of integrity even adults of this community have
-
The community is toxic. Sorry to hear about you brother my friend.
-
Welcome to the internet. He should have been fireteam leader..
-
Maybe your brother should play with kids his age. It's the Internet their a bunch of dicks on it. Unless you or your parents check to see who he is playing with its going to happen. It's life tell him suck it up if you 11 years old and crying over a game I think he needs to go outside sometimes.
-
You won't get any sympathy from this vile community. This is the main reason we need match making.

Edited by malaki202: 6/18/2015 12:33:05 PMSimple solution moving forward when trying to do things with randoms always be the person inviting the other people. It might take you longer to get a group together but when you are the leader there is no chance of getting booted. On a side note I do think he is a little young to be playing destiny since a majority of the community are teenagers and up. Considering a lot of people use foul language in this game including myself it's probably not the best environment for younger gamers.
-
Check out this matchmaking site. The100.io It let's you screen for things like age and foul language. It's really cool I'd give it a try for your brother!
-
Wow ppl really are a** holes age is no excuse this shouldn't happen. Period. It doesn't matter if he's 11 or 21 ffs sorry I've no idea how to help report these ppl but really hope they get banned feel sorry for your bro though
-
Hi I would suggest screening. For me I'm an adult with kids. I play and my daughter plays. I screen who I play with because I don't like a holes and I don't play with kids because I generally find them annoying. On the flip side you need to screen who your brother plays with. I would suggest just allowing him to play with kids and preteens but that's my opinion. Good luck. I play on PS4 and fortunately I haven't come across too many idiots but I hope it goes better for him
-
If you're on ps4 ill help your brother, my little sister is the same age and seeing her upset breaks my heart. Best of luck to the little man
-
Its your fault for not running it with him... Not to mention being 11 is against the tos to play this game... This thread is now about getting your brother banned for breaking the rules.
-
This thread is cancer. Literally.
Feel bad for your brother, though next time try playing with friends instead, or perhaps play with him as well.
-
As soon as Skolas dies you get the cipher or the weapon. Literally as soon as he dies so you or your brother are full of shit
-
Wait wait.. Your acting like this is the first time something like this has ever happened in the world of internet gaming. Yeah there are bullys out there, so expect that kind of thing to happen once in a while. Play with people you trust, or don't play with them at all, there's a reason its called the "Friends" list, and not "Randoms".
-
My son is 8 and he was getting booted a lot on last rounds, now he only starts his own fireteam if he does stuff so he don't get booted,
-
Do not join people's fireteam! let them join yours!
-
Welcome to the internet
-
I sort've want this to happen to me. If it ever does, I'll just leave the party and add them. And ages later I'll send them an invite to do skolas/nightfall and kick them at the end for revenge ;)
-
My advice. Don't lfg. Haven't in 3 months.
