JUST NOW MY BROTHER BEAT SKOLAS AGAIN-AND GOT REWARDS THIS TIME!
My 11 year old brother came to me in tears just now. He had just beaten Skolas with two other guys and IMMEDIATELY got kicked right after Skolas went down. Then, this guy invited his friend to get the rewards, and started being a complete dick to my little brother for no reason. My brother said they called him "really mean names," and I frankly don't want to think about what that could mean.
Why do people do this? I don't understand. I don't care if it's the Internet and people can be dickheads over anonymity, this is horrible. My brother shouldn't come to me crying because of some dickhead loser kicking him from the treasure room.
Edit: to those who don't believe me, check my bro's history "Donald Doge"
Edit 2: bro just told me he was kicked right after Skolas went down, so he didn't even get the drops. I had gotten that part wrong, but I edited it now
Edit 3: Someone researched this guy and apparently he's the Xbox Live version of KirmitTHEFrog, he kicks everyone and invites his friends after completing activities. I can't post gamertags, but if you could do me the favor of finding my bro's Skolas match from earlier today and report that guy, it'd be great
Edit 4: I can't believe this community. The kid who glitched and got his characters deleted got nothing but support, yet my brother who beat Skolas, got kicked AND cursed at by adults is being told he shouldn't have been doing that. -blam!-ing really guys? I'm done with this site. Yeah, I should've monitored it better, I'm doing that from now on, but seriously?! I doubt many of you have kids or younger siblings. Smh

Good god people suck.
-
Sorry to hear it man. People can be pretty cruel. If you guys are on Xbox, hit me or any of my clan mates up for friend invites. We have a pretty chill group and treat each other well. My gamer tag is the same as my forum name.
-
Sucks to suck
-
Sorry to hear that. We can always run skolas with him. I'm in PS4
-
I don't care what age your are, if you kick me before the loot chest I will find you, and I will k**l you.
-
Has a 34. He'll get over it.

I hate to say it but I tend to agree with those saying that 11 is too young for online interaction, especially in games like this. I'm not condoning what was done to him. Those people were just shitty, and stupid to boot, but, anonymity brings out the worst in people and that is why no sane company gives ESRB ratings on online content. At 11 he needs to be playing age appropriate games and his online activity should be supervised. Before anyone says it no I never played age inappropriate games as a kid. For one my mom wouldn't buy them. Secondly during my childhood gaming I can remember two titles that would be considered today to have been M or T and those were Splatterhouse and Clocktower. Online gaming was just coming into it's own back then and was limited to things like Diablo and MUD games. By the time I started playing online I was old enough to know people could and would be shitty online if you weren't careful.

Post brother's game tag so we can confirm by checking his history. If accurate, then the community will deal w the other guy. If not, then, well...
-
That story didn't make any sense. They kickex your brother, then invited a friend to make fun of him? How would he know that happened if he was kicked?
-
Was this your baby brother? Perfect in every way.

Rated T for Teen
-
Things happen... I'm not going to say
It's a teen game hurr durr.
but you let your bro play a game with strangers, and you and me both know kids and teens/adults don't mix. I feel sorry for your brother, I would be enraged, but stuff like that will happen my friend. Tell him personally, not to get offended by low lives like that.
-
Maybe your 11 year old brother shouldn't be playing online with strangers. Yes, people are assholes, it sucks. Easier to deal with if you're not a child. Bungie made a mistake by allowing kicking at the treasure room without having a checkpoint. Too many stories of people being kicked. I'll play with my friends or be the fireteam leader to avoid that happening to me.
-
Damn. That really sucks dude. They should raise the age rating as clearly being set at 11 is too low as most 11 years olds are too immature and sensitive. Hold on... Seriously though it was a aunt's trick to do that to anyone.
-
Really. Lol. Grow up.
-
Because your brother needed to learn the harsh realities of life.
-
My son is 9 and plays online games, but only with people that I allow him to play with. That's the first thing. Kids shouldn't be playing with random people like that. Second, it's a learning lesson. Think about how much worse it could have been.
-
If either my younger brother when he was 11 or my daughter whom is 12 came to me in TEARS I think I would have a bigger problem than online douchebags. If your little brother physically sobs when called "really mean things" then maybe your parents should look into his privacy settings. Or you could take the lead and do it since you felt it was worth the time to post about his experience.
-
Change his privacy setting or whatever they're called
-
He's an 11 year old. He shouldn't be playing this game period. He obviously does not have the mental capacity to deal with online interactions.
-
shouldnt be able to play online unless u ATLEAST 15......srry im not taking up for them but kids dont need to be interacting with randoms anyways
-
Unfortunately this is how things seem to have shifted. People acting like this has become common. I refuse to play with anyone not on my friends list unless I have to so I don't have to deal with people who think it's ok to act like that.
-
Then your brother should play with friends and not strangers. Tell him to grow a pair and that in the real world there WILL BE NO MERCY!!! But honestly, he's 11 already. Why the -blam!- is he crying like a bi***?
-
That's why you do it with friends or be host
-
Tell him to host it next time because you can never trust a total stranger.
-
That's why I dont let my 8yr old use a mic or get into premades. He only does crucible and matchmaking only and yes i do check on him to make sure he doesn't act like an idiot, other peeps deserve to have fun in groups too.
