Most people have never picked this up, but there is a little easter egg in the final mission of the campaign. So check this out..
You go through the entire mission to open the door right before the boss battle. As you go through the door you will trigger a cutt scene. In that cutt scene the Vex within will wake and turn to face you, and as they do your Ghost (Dinklebot) will turn and ask you, "Do you think you can kill ay God?" To which you reply, "I don't think I have a choice." You will then go on to defeat 3 enourmous Minotaurs. Gatelords that defend the Heart of the Black Garden. The evil darkness that creates the nasty robots that we all love to hate.
Now here is the Easter Egg of the mission!!
Bungie did create this game, but Activision co-signed on it. Essentially, Bungie has slept with the Devil. We've all agreed that had Activision never joined, we'd all have a better life. Keep this in mind. So now, you proceed to enter the boss battle.
Let's change some titles of the enemies. You as ay player are of course, playing the roll of your Guardian. Your Ghost is now Bungie. Useless, unless it's opening ay door. The Heart of the Black Garden is Activision! The Goblins you first face are represented by Christmas Noobs for CoD. People who like the game but ultimately stand no chance. Hobgoblins are represented by the average CoD player. Possess skill, can kill you, but in the end, will fall. And the Minotaurs (normal size). These enemies are represented by the Veteran CoD players. Hardcore players who have been there for as long as they can remember. You must defeat all of these in enemies while also facing the 3 Gatelords.
Gatelord #1: Sledgehammer! The baby of the group and the first to go.
Gatelord #2: Infinity Ward! The brute of the trio, stands his ground, but with skill. Shall be slain like the last..
Gatelord #3: Treyarch! The head of the beast, that must be cutt clean off for your quest to meet it's end. The strongest of the three, and the last leg of this monster we know as Activision.
After you have destroyed all three Gatelords, the Heart of the Black Garden (Activision) begins to implode upon itself. No longer able to sustain its own being. CoD is no more. As your Ghost says, "We're back, on Mars. The shroud of Darkness is lifting, and light returns to the Traveler."
Finally, the Traveler is represented by us all. The Community!! Who remain to fight through the Darkness that remains. "WE are what remains, of the Light!"
The Easter Egg as we call it, is Bungie's stab at Activision for bringing the Darkness to their game. It is there for any and all to see, if they wish to. And for those of you who choose not to, who chose play blind. I hope you enjoy jumping around in your exo suit, pretending to glide through the air, like a Warlock. Or using your exo cloak to hide in the shadows unseen, like a Hunter. Or even bootstomping, to fill that void of no longer being able to slam down to the ground as a Titan.
Thank You All For Your Time...
