Evolution, apparently, is always focused on the now, not on the origin, and I understand that I'll always receive that "Evolution is not abiogenesis" excuse once every atheist comes to that road block.

That's false. And it doesn't focus on the origin, because the theory of evolution was specifically hypothesised to explain the diversity of life. Not why there is life or where it came from. It was not developed to deal with the origin of life. That's like saying, damn this English text book for not helping me with my Math homework.
