The bible also says, just to name a few, that bats are a type of bird...
Actually it stated that they were not to eat "birds like these" (Lev. 11:13-9)
...insects have 4 legs...
So you are one of those hypocritical atheists who think insects always had only six legs 6,000 years ago? Note: The more accurate translation is that they were not permitted to eat small insects or crustaceans.
...that there is a solid roof over the planet called the firmament...
There was, and then we had a flood.
...and that stars are tiny objects in the sky that can fall down onto earth.
That was talking about the arch angels, seraphim, and cherubim who are numerous as the stars. More specifically that passage was talking about the third of the angels who sided with Lucifer at his fall.
Don't try use anything in the bible as fact in an argument. It just makes you look completely stupid to anyone who has read it and doesn't blindly believe everything in it.
Actually, the lesson to learn is that you are to translate each passage correctly. Words were invented to compensate for the lack of words that could not fit an accurate and easy translation into another language that didn't require as many words. If you try to interpret the Bible literally, it makes you look like a stupid idiot.
