This isn't a joke. This has happened to me twice now in the past two days, and I've never seen it before this Trials weekend. My screen drops to 0.5 FPS (a frame every two seconds) then my controller doesn't work. Light on the controller is still on, but no inputs work at all (can't even get to dashboard). PS4 doesn't turn off, either, as I tried the manual turn off button/touch thing and it just beeps rapidly. Could still party chat with my team, however, despite Destiny's audio ceasing.
Only solution I found was to remove the disc, and everything is back to normal.
Shame it chalks that up as a loss in Trials when I'm the victim of a hack...
If Bungie can't prevent it, I hope they can at least find a way to detect when it occurs so it will prevent the auto-loss and other team's inevitable victory...

Ez fix, get an Xbox
-
Sounds like a console issue? Is it overheating?
-
no one hacked your controller or your console. you are either lying or just have a severely gross fundamental misunderstanding of... pretty much everything you opened your mouth about.
-
Change your batteries.

This happened to me on my Xbox one. Moved Xbox from shelf to the floor and it stopped. When I put it back on the shelf it started again. Found out Xbox was over heating not getting enough ventilation. Put a small fan on Xbox and moved it no more problems.

Happened to my friend in crucible last week

Happened to my friend and we lost the match :/ had no way of reporting them after because I closed the applications trying to prevent a lost tbh >_< it's what I get

Edited by Tzoedn: 7/30/2015 1:24:11 PMCan the people that it happened to post what console they are on too? It seems to be indicated by a few immature comments to not be on xbox, and that this is a secret playstation exclusive. I have never experienced this on xbone
-
Doesn't happen on XBOX ONE!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA !!!! Take your exclusives and SUCK IT!!!!!!!!
-
Happened twice already

This happened to me the other day, however it was not while I was playing Destiny it was during Mortal Kombat x. This suggests to me that it has something to do with PlayStation as I was able to send an error report to Sony

Edited by Dismal Trauma: 7/30/2015 11:08:22 AMThis did happen to a team mate one match in ToO. I almost voted that I hadn't heard of this before then I remembered this happening. I can't say for certain that it was a hack or anything since I'm no expert on those things. I can give testimony though and say that we were playing beautifully until all the sudden at the start of a new match against the next team, one of our guys' controller stopped responding. It froze up even though it was fully charged; he also experienced a debilitating screen lock. He was essentially knocked out of the game while still being present and targetable. Not even the PS home button would engage. After 10 minutes of frantically searching for a solution so he could get in the game and help us he literally had no choice but to reset his PS4 to escape the lock, and then whadya know - as soon as he comes back into Destiny everything works as beautifully as it had been, and continued to every game after that. Considering that the only time I've ever witnessed this kind of thing happened to be during a match in the most competitive game mode Destiny has to offer, on our 7th game, and I have not seen it since neither in or out of Destiny I am inclined to lean towards it being a malicious manipulation of some sort - but of course I can't prove it. Oh, and yes we did end up destroying them 2vs3 and only allowed them to win 1 round (heavy, of course). It was a triumphant relief. So what ever hack or cheat they were employing it didn't work out well for them. Then again, could just be a fluke. Who knows!

Console crashes will happen no matter what console you have. Sucks it happened during trials though. They are after just simplified Gaming Computers. Just reset and continue playing.
-
Sounds like a system issue
-
Did your charging cable not come undone ? You know because of that ever so fast dying battery life ?!

Edited by ImUrHuckleBerri: 7/28/2015 10:14:29 PMLet me guess you were on the Cauldron C side spawn? Jumped up on the platform you spawn next to and ran across it to have that happen? It's a memory leak I am positive of it. Just a bug with that map. Happened to both my girlfriend and I when Cauldron was first up as a trials map. No one is hacking you or cheating. Just something Bungie has neglected to fix.
-
That's sounds like a console crash to me.
-
I would consider getting a console from a manufacturer who tries harder to prevent these things from happening and leave the cheaters and hackers to play with themselves.
-
had this happen in PoE today and I mean damn that frame rate drop . and a friend of mine just bitched about it on Facebook happening to him on PoE yesterday and he is on xboxone . so not just ps4 bro I'm on ps3 friend is on xbone
-
Happened to me in skirmish
-
If it's not happening in PVE than its got to be hackers has anyone had it happen in a POE or strike
-
New HAck 100% confirmed

I had the same situation yesterday in Trials, controller freeze and no sound,, chat party psn worked. The hacker players won the game killing me sveral times on the same place because i couldn't move. After ejecting the disc from the ps4 i could use my controller. Bungie ban the players please. Report done to bungie.
