EDIT 2: People are asking why? Well why not? And also it's just a bit of a memorial or something. Like that's where we all started. Everyone went to the cave at the beginning of the game and so it would be fitting that they open it for a day. Kinda like GTA and the Christmas snow

I never, not once, went to the loot cave... I would grind the shit out of strikes and attempt the VOG at an extremely under leveled disadvantage

besides what is said below, there is already about 3 or 4 other loot caves that never got patched, and are just as good (of a waste of time) please dont be shallow and think that was the only one. there is one on every planet, even multiple ones actually. Venus is my Fav with Mars being 2nd.
