My school priest (I was raised a Catholic and went to a Catholic school so we had a priest, I'm now atheist) was arrested in 2012 for historical child abuse of a terminally ill kid in the 80s and possession of child pornography. What's worse is that the Church knew and didn't even tell the police. They just relocated him to my area which is more 'remote' to draw attention away from it and stop him from doing it again, yet he ended up working in a school. My question to you is: how do you support a religion where this is such a widespread problem? I certainly can't reconcile my conscience with that. That's part of the reason I am atheist. Another problem I have with the Church is how it is one of the richest organisations on Earth and yet Jesus actively discouraged excessive wealth. He said all wealth should be used to help the less fortunate, in the Sermon on the Mount, I believe. Not hating, just curious.
