Don't be afraid of missing? So, I should just spam shots until I hit something? Doesn't that waste ammo, something that is harder to come by in Crucible?

Find one scope, learn it and use that specific one only. I suggest ambush or short gaze. Practice in Patrol as if it's crucible. Take shots on the strafe, after jumping and so on. Find markings that are head level (I use my teammates head level) to calculate shots.

Don't spam, take well calculated shots. If you miss, it's just a practice. Ammo doesn't matter. You'll get better.
