I consider myself a decent sniper, but when I go into Crucible, I'm wrecked beyond belief. There are guys who headshot me the very second they scope in. It's -blam!-ing ridiculous! I don't understand how they do it!
EDIT: A lot of people are saying that they get their skill from Halo. However, I actually snipe very well in Halo, but not-so-well in Destiny.
-
Well, with Felwinters Lie, sniping is easy.
-
Aim assist
-
Halo sniping is harder than Destiny, Destiny has ridiculous aim assist and larger hit boxes. Also there is not descope penalty when you get hit.
-
It's the aim assist on the Sniper weapons. Some have a higher assist than others, and now with the new perks, it make headshots easier. A player can be aiming several pixels away from actual head, and still get the hit as a crit head shot. It's Bungie's way of making this game more "accessible" for the casual gamers. :-/
-
I use high rate of fire-low Impact snipers in crucible since all snipers are two shot kills.
-
U sure they aren't using high impact sniper w last round does bonus damage...they can hit u in the foot and 1shot u w those rifles...but anyways I'm not that good of sniper too...it's my weakness in pvp...don't know how some are so good at getting head shots...any good tips would love to hear...
-
Best thing to do is just pull the trigger. Don't hesitate, that will get you killed easily.
-
Ok dude you gotta just stop trying to aim and let the aim assist do all the work. Honestly just take the shot wether you think it hit or not. The more shots you take the more shots you will make
-
Sniping in destiny is easy, a joke of a recoil and you don't have to consider height and distance as in other shooters, basically a decent sniper in battlefield or I'd even say cod will be a God in destiny
-
The comments saying it's practice and skill are funny. Destiny's aim assist does all the work for you. Go land some 500+ meter headshots in Battlefield and then we'll talk about sniping skill. Bullet drop separates the men from the boys.
-
Anyone know why this happened http://xboxclips.com/musmus99/9ccce56d-5d55-4132-a66e-ff98d9a69597 Second last round did 233 damage to body
-
All about Aim Assist. For starter snipers, use Eye of Sol, Shadow of Veils, and QB Bow. They literally lock onto people's heads for you.
-
If I'm ever sniping I remember where the arrow shows up when sprinting. Use that as a guide to where my scope will end up and line up my shots before I'm even scoped in. Works pretty well. Most quick snipes are bs quick scopes or panicked final rounds though lol.

Edited by Vayde: 6/14/2015 1:45:41 AMUse a high stability mid impact sniper. Such as Her Benevolence, LDR 5001, and Shadow of Veils. Those are my personal favorites. EDIT - Also make sure to have a Mid/Short range scope like an Ambush, TacSys, or Shortgaze.

Edited by Issah: 6/14/2015 12:54:21 AMI just put my reticule where I expect head to be at height-wise, then strafe left and right for the most part. It's what I used to do in Halo. I guess for a little clarification: I lead my targets, I put my reticule where I expect someone to be after a previous observation or just because I expect them to be there depending on the situation of the game I'm in. Known sniping spots, for example. The minute changes are done with strafes, as it's easier to predict where your reticule will be with a straight line rather than by using your aiming stick, because you might end up flicking it too far, though I do that in hectic situations, mostly in Trials. Twitch aim has worked out well too, but I know I need more practice.

Aim assist. It's hard to say people have any skill in this game with the presence of aim assist. Take that away, radar, and this game would be so much better
-
Here are some tips Aim where you need to be but look elsewhere on the screen to see any threats from other snipers but cycle. Your sights should always be a meter off the ground and hold for body shots, another half meter you will be always at headshot height. Once you have found the balance between head and body height, make sure you strafe to maintain movement and try not to shift the sights higher or lower

Edited by zJDz: 6/14/2015 1:15:42 AMLDR 5001 it has really high stability and high impact. I get more head shots with that sniper than any of my other snipers.
-
Final round for sure.
-
Its somewhat of what sniper you have. The Eye of Sol has crazy high aim assist
-
A good tip for sniping is to try to turn your sensitivity down a little bit. Also it helps to know the map and predict what your opponent will do.

Edited by Zebros: 6/13/2015 6:11:41 PMWatch true vanguard's YouTube sniping tutorials. They are immensely helpful. A good sniper is the deadliest player in the game.

I know what you mean, getting sniped in a split of a second through two open doors, ridiculous. (Cauldron) Another moment where the enemy runs through the door while taking fire and pulls off an instant headshot and walks away like it was nothing. Or even when I'm on the other side of the map and I get sniped the moment I peek my head out when my entire team is assaulting them from a completely different angle. I don't know how they do it either, unless they use aimbot but everyone claims it to be skill, I would not be surprised if people were that blind.

Aim down sights, look at where your reticule is and then put a little bit of blu tac on your screen at that point. No more aiming down sights :)
