I consider myself a decent sniper, but when I go into Crucible, I'm wrecked beyond belief. There are guys who headshot me the very second they scope in. It's -blam!-ing ridiculous! I don't understand how they do it!
EDIT: A lot of people are saying that they get their skill from Halo. However, I actually snipe very well in Halo, but not-so-well in Destiny.

Aimbot......

Edited by Shelooked18: 6/14/2015 5:27:56 AMI gotta remind my self to be patient. Im more of the run and gun type and it also helps that the bullets we fire are as big as cannon balls. Practice makes perfect as well. I had a new respect for nlb after toying with it im still as with it but cant at least get the hang of two shooting people.

It its very suprising to me i was a day one player but took a long break from it for other games after the holidays. When i left it was extremly rare to see a sniper and even if you did you could just kill them with basically what ever weapon you were using. They were not threatening at all. I came back and iron banner was going on and i was gitting sniped left and right I now fear snipers. It did seem like most of the skilled snipers showed up for iron banner though, i dont see to many scary ones in regular crucible. I lve got a good ldr5000 with final round ambush scope that i occasionally pull out for a match or two.

Aim assist
-
Probably your getting hit with final round and think your getting headshot.
-
I usually have a decent memory so I remember where their head will be when standing and crouching.. But to remember that I have to fight someone in that position me I don't play enough PvP to do that.
-
It's called Aim-assist. Activision puts it in their coffee.
-
Final round?
-
Practise and knowing your enemy helps a lot Halo sniping and Destiny sniping are way different
-
Personally I used final round on my snipers, so even if I shoot you in the pinky toe you die.

The controls for halo are very different from the ones in destiny. Besides, everybody gets destroyed in Crusible. That's the point of it.

Edited by Maxd5000: 6/14/2015 4:15:29 AMI got my skill from halo
-
Because they are hitscan lasers and anyone with moderate sniping skills in other games probably finds it easy in this game. That being said sniper rifles do offer the largest skill gap in this game weapon wise so not anyone can do it. I'm sure mouse and keyboard probably helps too.
-
If you're a sniper you must have the opponent enter an area you control. You probably keep entering their line of sight before you know they're there. Draw them out
-
I have some advice. Have you ever considered getting good?
-
Aim bot or red dot assistance
-
I don't know about the rest of the snipers out there, but I find that primarily using my left joystick and strafing over trying to use my right joystick creates better outcome. Not only does it have the potential to dodge the incoming sniper shot, but if you set the scope at head height and just strafe, you rarely miss and hit them in the body. Obviously this does take some more room to move around and it is not as conducive to sitting in one spot without moving.

Skill

Shortgaze, its all the shortgaze

Sniping in halo or this game is a joke. Try sniping in gears of war then you can talk.
-
Aim assist snipers. Check planet destiny for snipers with high aim assist stats.

Edited by Trokia: 6/14/2015 3:47:28 AMJust learn maps and where the head should be. Never played any halo other than the odd pvp at friends house. Shooting something like 80% head shots with sniper rifle in crucible.
-
Ive always been the sniper in my halo team. Since halo 2 so i guess thats where it comes from. All those 1vs 1 sniper with or without scoping helped a lot
-
I used to play on a level 8 sensitivity, and i rarely got headshots. I play on a 3 now, so it's easier to snipe and get headshots.
