I consider myself a decent sniper, but when I go into Crucible, I'm wrecked beyond belief. There are guys who headshot me the very second they scope in. It's -blam!-ing ridiculous! I don't understand how they do it!
EDIT: A lot of people are saying that they get their skill from Halo. However, I actually snipe very well in Halo, but not-so-well in Destiny.

I got used to sniping but ive seen people put a tiny piece of paper with tape on their screen right where the scope will zoom in, once you memorize where the middle of the screen will be after practicing with the tape you then take off the tape with paper and you will see a great increase in your "quickscoping" skills

A lot of experienced sniper really are just that good, but keep in mind that on occasion the lag/latency will also allow enimy players a little extra time to bead in on you before they actually show up on your screen.

Been using a sniper since Halo 3, all the way through Halo 3, CoD MW2-BO2 and Halo 4. Now Destiny, you just sorta learn, I don't know
-
Halo dude, just halo
-
Practice really. Im a decent sniper, not great by any means but not terrible. I miss gears when i could blind fire a sniper and get the headshot

Edited by sWozzAres: 6/13/2015 3:41:17 PMhalf the battle is getting a good sniper - roll your sniper to get great perks, I rolled mine yesterday 120 times and it's still not perfect, shortgaze scope for aim assist, hidden hand for bigger heads, snapshot for fast aim etc then find some good corridors and doorways to hard scope, there are plenty of numpties in this game to take advantage of :D

The level of sniping in Halo and Destiny are so much different. If you're good at sniping in halo doesn't mean that you are good in Destiny. Haha, I wouldn't practice halo for destiny. However I agree, I'm not very good at sniping in destiny but I am decent in halo so I have no idea XD it could also be a final round or random bullet bonus damage too so don't feel too bad.

It's called not Shotgunning all the time...

I have a long history of sniping in COD, Battlefield, and Halo. So its just techniques I have picked up from previous games. I find sniping in Destiny to be incredible easy in comparison to Battlefield. I remember my first game of destiny during the beta I went on a 15 kill streak with a sniper. Just felt very familiar to Halo so there wasnt much of a learning curve.

Halo 3, Snipers. Nuff said
-
practice and steroids

Push ups, sit ups and a lot of juice. Kudos to whoever gets it, and for everyone else, well, Meh?
-
Don't be afraid of missing, that's the only thing I can tell you.
-
It takes a lot of practice. Also, the sensitivity helps a lot. Good snipers will recommend a high sensitivity but I tend to do very well by using a low sensitivity ( 3 ).
-
Quick AF reaction time. Lol

It's quite an easy mechanic in Destiny. No bobble or movement in the gun nor do you have to do technical stuff like going prone or holding breath.

I think they just shoot whenever they see a head. I know I hesitate when I snipe which gets me killed.
