I consider myself a decent sniper, but when I go into Crucible, I'm wrecked beyond belief. There are guys who headshot me the very second they scope in. It's -blam!-ing ridiculous! I don't understand how they do it!
EDIT: A lot of people are saying that they get their skill from Halo. However, I actually snipe very well in Halo, but not-so-well in Destiny.

Luck helps,as well

Final round :-)

Muscle memory. Get used to common snipe spots and head glitches on the map. Majority of the time, my "quick scope" kill is really just a prediction based on radar, map knowledge, and the kill feed. Ultimate guide: http://youtu.be/qO7-Ylbgnig

Yeah, I found sniping easier on Halo Reach (loved that sniper). My favorite sniper in Destiny is actually the Common one you first get in the game. I had one till recently, when I finally dismantled it to make room in my Vault.
-
Patience, I'm slowly learning with snipes.
-
Halo: Reach Team Snipers, son. Hours upon hours loaded into that playlist. Damn do I miss having Team Snipers and Team Swat playlists
-
because A.) you probably suck, and B.) its halo sniping so if you were good at halo sniping then your a beast in destiny
-
Keyboard and mouse?
-
It's either their skill or their perks. My sniping is based on my skill. I don't really rely on perks that much.
-
Practice, steady aim, and some nice music.
-
The hidden hand perk helps aim assist to a certain degree, but the send it perk and a long range scope increases the aim assist by a substantial amount. couple those with a sniper with decent base aim assist stats, and you basically just have to have your enemy near the center of your screen, and shoot.
-
If someone is good at sniping in a cod game of course they're gonna be good at sniping in Destiny
-
#testicularmanslaughter ftw!!!!!

Hidden hand

Edited by Beasel: 6/14/2015 3:58:45 PMAim assist programmed into certain snipers...some of them have crazy aim assist. Longbow has an aim assist of 50 for instance and the new sniper eye of sol has the hidden hand perk that has high aim assist as well.

Hard scoping and hidden hand

If u are on xbox one, look me up @ WyvernKiller02 and look at my showcase. Do u still think u r good at sniping, u have my respect
-
After you play battlefield........sniping is terribly easy in games like destiny and cod
-
I have been sniping in video games since I could pick up a controller. I am not the best by any means, but I feel I can hold my own when in a battle. I use the tip of my gun as a reference point for where my ADS will snap to. I have just gotten good at knowing where the center of the screen is.
-
I was the designated Sniper (per say) on my Halo GB team and I was always first person to rush Sniper in most games. The mechanics in Destiny are essentially identical to Halo, just with different stats per sniper. The whole aiming for headshot thing becomes second nature after playing Halo.

Practice.
-
Muscle memory, I only use one sniper and wreck with it
-
How are they not so good?! the sniper stays completely still in this game since theres no breathing! theyre not very good its solely because theres NO breathing at all and because of the aim assist on all snipers and hidden hand
-
I just play a lot. This is NLB with secondary sniper
