Just because your still playing and maybe some of your friends does not mean that the past games has not taken away Guardians from Destiny .
To say Destiny killer is a bit overboard. Destiny will always have a base for some players.
Destiny has improved leaps and bounds with the latest dlc. However it still has alot it could improve on.
I Had the hardest time breaking away from Destiny until I gave Warframe a shot and well now I try to play destiny but lose interest pretty quickly. Still haven't done the quest after doing 30 plus treasure chest runs and not one key.
I'll come back to Destiny eventually and when I do I'll have more content and better updates and hopefully some customization . Feel like lemmings in destiny. Very few minute differences between weapons colors and gear. Could keep going on but would rather not.
P.S Have they fixed the auto rifle yet?

If you gave it a chance and learned and progressed you wouldn't say that. If you like destiny you will love warframe

No no no I've played warframe even before destiny and I honestly I think it's a buggy mess. Definitely one of the worse games I've ever played

I played it day one then went to destiny . Then went back to warframe and was amazed how much it changed. It really has changed leaps and bounds. They always have events for the community and new stuff coming in. Really should at least check it out. Really has improved so much. If you are xbox one I would be willing to help you out.

I've checked it recently like last month and yeah they've added a lot of stuff but it's still really buggy and I just don't have fun playing it

Cool that works everyone has the preference and I respect that. They are pretty quick to squash bugs. The one I hate is being disconnected after getting good rewards or long runs . I still don't quite trust staying past 25 mins . But other than that I can't think of anything major.

im thinking about getting into warframe but the shooting mechanics look a little messy. how are they compared to destiny?

You know they're not bad that bad it's just takes getting used to the change at first. One thing I like is all the customization. People could have the same weapon but could be Modded a million different ways. And so many choices. If you want something you know where to farm for it . If your on Xbox one I could help you get started .
