Thread fills me with a little hope that maybe the PVP elite do have them same desire to help others as the PVE elite did back in the day.
I was carried to Atheon by guys willing to help others, and even those guys hadn't figured out how to kill him on their own. The had watched, learned from and copied the true vanguard who had figured it out for themselves.
Making it to the lighthouse doesn't make you good, I'm proof of that. I play trials for fun because I enjoy it even though I'm losing badly.
Too many who've completed flawless think git gud is a compulsory answer to any post on the trials.
Well if all the scrubs like me stopped playing it, a good number would find getting there much more difficult in the future. Maybe even find out that they're level 2 scrubs themselves :-).
Good post dude, even if it won't fly.

There's a difference between helping out on Raids and plain letting someone kill you in the Trials so I totally disagree with what you've put here. Saying that if these guys want to assist by playing alongside other players who have yet to go flawless then at least you still have to put up a fight in game. I have yet to win a single round (let alone match) in Trials, so miles away from getting anywhere near the Lighthouse but I would not want a team to let me get there. Fair enough if someone offered to be in my team (I'm not bad, its just the level of play in Trials is so much higher) at least then it's an achievement to get there.

My post is probably not clear, I wasn't saying I agreed with how he proposed to go about helping others. I was trying to say it was good that some flawless PVPrs where trying to think of ways to help out others and not all were being arrogant tossers.

If the PVP elite as you call it wants to help others, they should do it when they are on the team of the person they are helping.

Edited by FitzyWATP: 6/11/2015 11:39:49 AMA good few do. There's a couple of threads on here doing just that. They just struck me as the exceptions rather than the rule. I'm not good at pvp, I can live with that. Just thought the o.p. deserved some credit for trying to come up with a plan to help others rather than gloating and baiting them.

Although I do like the idea of people helping each other, but throwing games is not the way to do it imo. People who left while travelling to the ToO map got banned for doing exactly that, now it will just cost them more time. I'm considered good at PvP (1.5 k/d which is top 7% of all players) but I don't think I'm good enough to carry someone I don't know at all through flawless with a friend. We tried last week with another friend, who we very often played with and almost got it for him. He missed one boon, so me and my friend got a flawless but he missed one and we lost the last match :/
