I've played a lot of sports and horseback riding is easily the most difficult. People see some actors on TV bouncing around on some ancient trail horse and immediately assume that there's not much to it. In reality, they have no idea how much training, blood, sweat, and broken bones goes into it. Not only must the rider be trained, but the animal has to be as well. And if you've ever ridden a trail on some lazy old horse with a giant sofa of a saddle, then you have yet to actually ride a horse. Horse aren't cars or motorcycles. They don't just go when you say and you don't sit comfortably until you arrive. It's extremely difficult but also extremely rewarding. I encourage anyone who isn't familiar with riding to give it a try.
