They used to feed us all types of bullshit in school - for example, Christopher Columbus. I still remember the saying we used to remember it, "In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue."
What's bad about this is that school teaches a lot of stuff as fact that actually isn't, and you don't realize it until, at the earliest, about an upper-classman in high school. To make that even worse is that pretty much everyone knows about BS that they teach, but it still goes on. Smh.
In 1oth grade, my biology professor taught us 2 ideas of where life came from: Creation and evolution. On creation, we spent maybe a day and a half on notes about what creation is and how it could be done and shit. And for about two-3 weeks, we talked about Evolution - we learned the biggest names in the theory, several different 'stages' of it, etc. And we tested on it. And it's a theory!
