The taken king new race
Let's talk about the taken. This is the race that Oryx belongs to and probably the masters of the hive. And I'd he willing to be these ships belong to them. Why? Well in early art release there was a banner showing all 4 of the enemy races. Fallen, hive, cabal, vex AND another. And I would he willing to bet these ships belong to them.

I thought they could be either a mix of all races or an entirely new race that was what the Hive actually looked like before they became corrupted, they were just Taken by Oryx to another dimension or place (like Crotas End) before they began looking like what they are.

16 RepliesThere's a reddit thread about it. Taken are (speculated to be) a race of controlled/brainwashed Fallen, Cabal and maybe even Guardians. Included a picture to show concept art of the "Taken." Also, there are Cabal corpses on the PvP map Cauldron; a [b]Hive[/b] fortress under the moon's surface... The word Taken in it makes all of this make even more sense, as they are [b]taken[/b] and controlled by Oryx.

1 ReplyThey are "Taken", this means that they aren't a new race, they are members of all races, and even some guardians, who have fallen under the control of Oryx, my guess is that Toland is one of them, considering his fascination with the hive.

I'm surprised I haven't seen this mentioned before, but the taken king's logo is *not* Exactly hive. The bottom "V" part extends further and the top, while similar, is graphically different as well. This does make me think that it is either a new race as mentioned, or a higher evolution of the hive. Tl;Dr: the taken logo

Oryx is a celestial entity or some kind of god without a physical body living somewhere in the dimension from where Hive and the darkness originated. The "Taken" might trully be the actual name of a new race that worships Oryx as their god, but I personally think that those ships are early concept art for Vex ships. What makes me wonder are the lights along the ships that look like windows and I dont think the Vex would need windows lol. So those trully might be ships belonging to a humainod species. Then again what is the planet in the background? That cant be Mars bcoz those ships are clearly in some sort of atmosphere coz of the cluds, but on a second look it almost apears as if those clouds are "around" that planetoid object. Sadly I still think that its an old concept art that got dumped like many other ones. For now atleast in Destiny 1. Ive seen some cool stuff in the Destiny artbook. Maybe the races we have now got taken by oryx, and brainwashed into being under his control, there's dead cabal on the moon in that cauldron PVP map. Maybe that area is his "transformation" area. If you look up at A spawn there's hundreds of pods up there, maybe he's been setting up an army while we were PVPing against each other.

9 RepliesYou know what... that looks like a vex ship to me. The blue light is similar to the light you see before they teleport. They have the same dark clouds that are only around when the vex warp in. before people go off and say that the vex can teleport anywhere, I say this to you. The vex is a multitude of minds acting as one, so those minds need to have a vessel, and they need to be directed. So thise ships could be what controls the vex, and allow them to teleport exactly as they want, and not into a rock, of off the planet. In summary, that is too similar to vex tech.
