Bungie changed Silimar's Wrath...

I got this gun as a random drop this week, and I was going to throw it away... but I noticed Bungie did something different with it. The weapon now has slightly higher impact and lower fire rate; it's now more in line with auto-rifles like the Shingen-E or Up For Anything, which I remember being pretty popular in the Crucible before the auto-rifle nerf. I'm gonna re-roll this thing to try and get Rangefinder; but I'm still hoping they'll buff auto-rifles soon so I can get the most out of this gun. That last nerf in Patch 1.1.1 was taking it too far.

    • A new SW is a decent AR. Got this set of perks after reforging it N times: red dot-ores (brings the stability up to 95%, enhanced handling and range), crowd control (a bit more damage after the first kill), rifled barrel (doubles the default range), and rangefinder. Tested in IB at level 33: melts enemies really good from far away. Takes down silly camping snipers, thorn users and does double kills in control.

    • Got that as well and was pleased to realize that it actually seems quite competent despite the AR nerf. I'm just trying to get a good combination of perks on it.

    • I threw mine out. Wanted to compare it to my old one, but just do not have room right now due to other project weapons I am investigating / trying out. Kinda wish I had kept it. At the same time though, there has been absolutely zero indicators Bungie will ever fix ARs. I am holding onto a couple, and it would be nice to know if there is consideration for fixing them.

Is nobody gonna mention the fact that it starts with like 90 stability without any perks unlocked? That's really a ridiculously high amount. No other legendary comes close to having such a high base value in any stat. And it's not like it has absolutely shitty range, magazine size or reload either. In fact, 40 magazine size is fantastic for its archetype while range and reload are no less than average.

    • Should I keep the rolls I got on my one (on my warlock or should I re-roll it for other perks

    • And when they added the option to roll any new guns or upgrade old guns... every drop is devalued. I can go buy anything, change it to suit my needs and upgrade it to end game damage output. I have only one gun that was a no brainier to ascend. I'm waiting to see burn mods for next week to upgrade anything. Every gun with locked perks has at least one ultra specific perk. Shank burn? Cool. That helps this sniper rifle or rocket launcher. perks that help during every fight are better. Imagine if fatebringer had a perk that would sometimes do additional damage to hobgoblins rather than firefly. How many people would ever defend a conflux again?

      • I rolled mine with Focus fire, reinforced barrel, and counterbalance. If I were you, I'd try to get both rangefinder and focus fire

I got one this IB and used it last night. Very stable and got plenty of kills (for me) even not levelled. I likes it.
