I think it's quite clear, and evident, that the devs have it wrong. They are devs; they write software code. They aren't behavioural/ social scientists or of that ilk. They came up with an idea for "forced" team based play and got it wrong. Don't think that because they made the came that they are infallible.
Like was said, it won't become the "goto" gameplay mode. Those who choose to form a clan have a choice. Those who decide NOT to have not got the option and as a result, forfeit chunks of the game. A game which they paid for. DLC which they also paid for. It isn't the devs' place to tell me, or anyone else for that matter, to join a clan just to enjoy certain aspects of the game. All aspects/ features of ANY game should be open to the customer 'as is', not based on any social/ private factors which a dev "believes" to exist in the real world.
