After repairing Halo (now transported to the Composer's Forge), he would take it to Earth and wipe out humanity. Blue Team would ultimately pursue the Didact back to Installation 03 and engage him. Overwhelmed by the Didact, Blue Team would be defeated, with John nearly being killed. However, Static Carillon would arrive and engage the Didact, ultimately teleporting him to Halo's control room without the Index. John would come up with a plan to stop the Didact though. Carillon would teleport him to the control room with the index, and he would negotiate with the Didact. During the talk, he activated Halo, so Carillon could disengage Halo's control room, sending it down to the Composer's forge. At the last second, Carillon teleported the Chief to saftey, leaving the Didact to be composed when Halo's control room impacted with the Forge.
