Cheaters, Cheaters, Cheaters
The Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner have been full of cheaters. If you banned cheaters, but missed some people, you likely made those people and their non-caught methods bolder and more prevalent. The first week of Trials my clan ran four perfect runs in a row to make sure everyone got to the Lighthouse. However, this week we were lagged out four times as a group, had one player get lagged out to the start screen twice, played a team that turned on some kind of lag switch after we beat them two rounds and started teleporting around the screen, and were unable to maintain a perfect trials passage.
The Lighthouse this week was not for the Elite. It was for the sneaky and yellow-bellied.

1 ReplyEdited by CannyJack: 6/8/2015 3:37:20 PMWe had some rounds in Iron Banner where we reported people for what looked like intentional network manipulation to cheat; on the other hand I ended up in plenty of rounds where I was red-barred constantly, so it's hard to tell if any of it was devious cheating, or just the crappy peer-to-peer approach they're using.

1 ReplyI haven't been to the lighthouse because of cheaters. I was meant to go to the lighthouse several times but those lagswitching b***** ruined it for me. I am sorry that I can't compete with teleporting and invincible enemies.

I usually report and block people who do this. I also send them a message full of hate.

2 RepliesNot to knock you down, I know some people do this but I have yet to run into these problems(I am a network engineer and a programmer so it helps me), I have only run into a few red bars but that's on them and personally I think if your connection even hits what bungie considers red status it should drop you with an error message saying your Internet isn't fast enough to play. Done. (I know bungie matchmakes based on initial ping but once the game starts thier upload can't handle it and they lag. So drop them...)

2 RepliesToday I almost lost my cool. This guy was teleporting everywhere. One moment he was 10 feet in front of me and ten next second I was killed by him with a shotgun. Everyone in both teams was green bar, still he was teleporting. And most infuriating part was, he got the Gjallarhorn.

One of my teammates lagged out to the start screen when we were winning 4-1 and we ended up losing the game. Game after that, my other teammate lags to the main screen at the start of the game.

2 RepliesWhile I agree there are some extremely obvious cheating going on but there is also some server side issues going on. I can normally play perfectly fine almost 99% of the time and the 1% of the time when I do lag ik exactly why. However, this past week trying to do iron banner has been extremely frustrating my perfect connection dropped to pure red bar for a large portion of the time. It wasn't just me i noticed a large amount of players fluctuating between green and red bars rapidly the whole time. To me many players seemed to be affected by things outside of their control and it was completely bungie's fault causing others to suffer thinking someone was cheating.

3 RepliesIn the iron banner I would join some lobbies and every single person would be red bars and those games were just down right dirty. People would walk through walls, appear out of thin air, teleport, no damage delivered, and supers that didn't work. Other games it would be only one or two people red bars coincidently it would be their top 1 or 2 players really difficult to tell who is cheating or if it's crap connection.

1 ReplyI am just about to drop PVP, its not worth it getting stressed out. Bungie can get rid of them. then there just will be more....sick and tired of getting hawkmoon to the face from across the map and die from one shot...people being able to teleport from front of you to behind you. So I will give it a ! more week, and then bye bye destiny.

Trails needs dedicated servers and balance of weapons, with out cheaters and bullshit in it !!!

1 ReplyVery VERY discouraging when the first 3 rounds I get 8 kills no deaths and best of all NO LAG. Then suddenly on the 4th round 2 players on the enemy team go from green bar connection to red bar and get the invincible blink walk and 2 shots from a golden gun don't even drop one persons shield and the rest of the match falls apart with the enemies surviving point blank fel winters, 6 thorn shots, 5 bursts from red death and never drop their shields.

1 ReplyI don't play a lot of PvP but I did try to compete in the Iron Banner over the weekend. I don't know what was happening but it was almost unplayable. The lag was horrible and the constant kicks out of game or contacting Destiny servers was maddening. I was just there for fun with some friends so I tried every OP weapon I own just for kicks. Point blank range 4 shots with Thorn and no damage, same with a full clip of TLW. Players teleporting and sef rezing without being a warlock. It was an aggrivating afternoon to say the least.

First weekend i got flawless once, after that i experienced too much lag and cheaters, like in one game, you couldn't even see the other team and they weren't hunters or using patience and time

1 ReplyI faced terrible lag this weekend. Whether it was lag switching or poor servers is anyone's guess. I can say that I learn towards individuals cheating. The reason is as follows. Let's take a look at the logic. Bungie has no interest in having poor servers. What sense would it make for Bungie to cut costs on hardware? Shitty servers would make people want to play this game less than they already do. Less people playing =less income. I think the issue has to do with bandwith, or yes, cheaters. Take a look at an average IB matchup. There are 12 people. There can very possibly be 12 people from different parts of the world with different connection speeds. I don't have the best technical knowledge with all this stuff, but it seems that may have a lot to do with it. However, it has been easier to cheat with online matchmaking games as it ever has been before. People can download applications to their phone which will in effect make a lag switch.

I think the server's probably where doomed with ib on aswell, but lag is an issue. Not for myself in trials, but people I have played with
