Really, Bungie? In your desperation to make a PvP game mode where people won't cheat to win a simple prize, you've made one huge mistake, and that's losing *NO MATTER WHAT* if you leave the game. I have flawless Internet, but the fact that a fraction of a second loss of connection boots me out of a game and makes me take a loss when I have literally two wins left until I reach Lighthouse, is stupidly unfair. it's just unfair and thoughtless for you to overlook players that actually DO have connection problems just to keep cheaters from trying to get away from the loss. Seriously? No one is being attacked with leaving the game Bungie. So why make it this way? It's a win win situation. A person leaves without a loss and the other team wins. This is a problem, and it is cheating to get out of a loss, but not big enough for you to unfairly punish bad connection players for this. Please patch this now.
EDIT: Also, note that mercy DOES NOT prevent a counted loss on a passage coin if you time out. This is another flaw with this system which further values my point.

Edited by Liberatus: 6/9/2015 2:11:45 PMYou guys all realize that destiny doesn't run on "servers" you're running off of someone's shitty Internet in the lobby hosting and Destiny servers piggybacking off of that, it's the same for all console shooters and it makes it impossible to have "competitive" multiplayer. I'll go back to CSGO where you get dedicated servers and a balanced multiplayer if I want a competitive FPS
-
It needs To be that way, otherwise people would pull their internet cable when losing. Unfortunately, destiny has a lot of cheaters/glitch abusers.

Error code "baboon" gets me

Edited by twey_ironside: 6/9/2015 7:54:15 AMWe had got booted after 4-0 while about 2 win the 5th game. We all had the Mercy active. Me and another of our fireteam got a loss while the 3rd person got it coutned as a victory. I think it should just be counted as neutral. So no win or loss. I think its is hard to differentiate between a wanted or an unwanted disconnect. Its disheartening though if you have to start over becase the serves cant hold up. My internet is fine as well.

People will exploit whatever loopholes they can find to avoid a loss in the current system. The only FAIR way out of this mess is either to get dedicated servers---which are much more stable----or make the Light house available to anyone who gets to nine wins. Even though Bungie won't acknowledge the problem...their servers CLEARLY have a problem dealing with high traffic. Especially when large numbers of people are playing the same part of the game like PoEs right after reset...and ToO/IB. In light of this, it is unfair to saddle people with a loss for disconnects that are not their fault.
-
I'm not certain that all theses types of posts aren't from people that lag switch before they are booted. Not saying you did it, but I have never been booted from trials and I run 3 PS4s at a time. Not 1 time have I been booted. Of course I've also never lag switched either. Coincidence?
-
Ya the bullshit servers made me lose my second flawless last week, and my mercy didn't -blam!-ing matter.
-
Bungie really needs to fix the server problems. I've been ddos'd, disconnected and really laggy games. Last two haven't been as bad as this one for me personally. Feels like we are beta testing this game with no developers on the payroll. I rather be compensated for finding all the bugs in this game. How long have they had a chance to fix this crap? Since launch. But they say weapon balancing is the issue. If it lags as bad as it does no weapon will hit. What's the bigger issue here?
-
I'm going to preface this by saying my wifi knowledge is limited. I would like to see disconnects not count as a loss or a win just a tie, but there is a stipulation I need clarified for it to work. With all its animals and plants to choose from can bungie seriously not tell the difference between a pulled cord and a disconnect? What are all these different errors for if they can't even differentiate the root cause
-
If you get an error code you shouldn't get a loss last night had 8 wins and still had my mercy and then randomly get a weasel and got a loss was so pissed that I stopped playing the rest of the night.
-
If they leave before the match they do t deserve to not get a loss they deserve to get banned or temporarily banned
-
Because people would pull their cord to avoid a loss.
-
It sucks but it's necessary because people would just pull the plug on their internet if they were about to lose...
-
This is why I just don't play Trials of Osiris. It is a niche gaming platform for those who are privileged; privileged with the time to be pro's at video games and privileged with a flawless connection. Bungie has decided to ditch their core customers, those playing for fun, story line and a moderate competitive game play, for those who are serious about spending their live's perfecting the art of map memorization and digital memory muscle. So, I urge you to start playing other games. Leave it to the pro's. Let it become the MySpace of games.
-
Dear bungie, I would like to quit out of matches and still get a win. -OP
-
Furthering your point this has has happened to me as well. Mainly this week of trials (third trials). We had 5 straight wins and my buddy timed out, he had the mercy boon and still took a loss. The two of us who were lucky enough to stay in and fight already had two loses, but we also had a mercy boon. We ended the game with only two loses, but the game made us turn in our passages and wouldn't let us continue. With only two loses. Also the kicked player needs a chance to join back. It's brutal with 2v3.
-
Just do it again. Or invest in better internet.
-
Apparently your internet isn't as flawless as you think it is
-
If you leave for any reason, its a loss, connection or otherwise. What else would it be? A tie? If you can leave mid game w/o penalty, then teams would just leave as soon as they started to lose. This would completely destroy the whole thing. If they allow you to leave without a loss, no player would ever lose again. The whole thing would be pointless. Players are already leaving before the mach starts and keep doing this in order to find low ranked player to play against to have a better chance of winning. If you're in a group of all 34's you will often run into player who quit out pre-match, to avoid playing.
-
You used the words flawless internet, then you said you had a loss of connection. Play wired in the Trials.
-
If you have flawless internet you wouldn't loose connection for even a second
-
People have to get the loss for being disconnected(on purpose or not) otherwise people would quit when losing all the time like Iron banner back in day. Stop being dumb.
-
we had the same issue yesterday. We all got booted while winning our fifth game and it counted as a loss for 2 of us. For the last one it counted as a win. We all had the Mercy equipped but it didnt help...
-
Sadly they failed at the gamemode where people won't cheat because ToO is full of hackers/cheaters. -Lag switches -DDOSing -Aimbotting Also the leaving thing was suppose to keep people from quiting but yes they should fix the whole bungie server crapping you out and giving you a loss
-
Edited by jcald--: 6/8/2015 6:24:45 PMMercy is not a flaw, it clearly states forgives the next loss. Edit: Agree that mercy should work during disconnect.
-
This is a big issue for me as well. I got kicked when we had the other team down 3-0. I could not rejoin the game so my team lost and I got a loss on my card. If a guy gets kicked there should be a time out for 5 mins or until the team can get a replacement to carry on with the match at 3v3. If a team member can not rejoin or a replacement be found the match should be a tie and nothing be out on the score cards for that match. Getting kicked is no ones fault but the servers and should be treated as such.
