Not so much a lore question as it is speculation, but, assuming we get more, what new Forerunner weapons could we be expecting in Halo 5 and/or what human or Covenant weapons could new Forerunner weapons be comparable or a counter to?

We haven't seen many explosive variants of Forerunner weaponry besides the incineration cannon, so perhaps something along the lines of the grenade launcher or sticky launcher.

Oh, god. Please, no more things like the sticky detonator. I will honestly accept the -blam!-ing binary rifle over that abomination.

However, testing showed that players had difficult time understanding how to use them. Hopefully they'll go back to that very alien approach, so they made them into the Halo 4 iterations. For now, we can probably expect more Forerunner mirrors for existing weapons.
