People Who Stream For Money Are Ruining The Gaming Community
If you stream for money shame on you. Gaming should be a hobby not a job. You people begging for money make me sick. I don't know what's worse the people streaming for money or the idiots who donate to them?
While you're sitting on your ass fighting aliens you have little kids fighting cancer. Shame on you...

But I haven't met a streamer who asks, much less begs for money. Also they're basically entertainers cause most people watch them for the personality playing more than the actual game. Also I don't see how you can compare them to kids with cancer. That's just stupid.

5 RepliesIf you hate streamers just report them to the IRS. I'm sure most of them are underdeclaring. One audit and they are probably finished. It's a relatively new "industry". So after additional scrutiny there will probably be restrictions and legislation regarding it.

If I would stream that money would first go to better recording and video quality, once that happens I would just use the money to donate and host monthly prizes. Buy subscriptions and allow the viewers who subscribe have a chance for something. I feel like these streamers need to check their ego, you're right about it not being a job.

7 RepliesYou do realise people donating to streamers is totally optional and no streamer I have ever watched has forced viewers to donate. It's a choice like do you drop your bit of change into the charity donation box on the shop counter.

Companies take risks to get money and so do streamers. Some people love their job and some don't. Its the same everywhere. When you're born you can be brought up rich or poor. Some people may not work a day in their life and have money. Turns out people can have different opinions.

Saying all streamers are lazy pieces of shit is like saying all teachers are bad. Some sit on their assets and hand out papers all day and some actually care about their students and work hard to help them. Same with streamers, some are asshats and insult people. Some are really good people who not only help this community but also help their viewers in many ways. Maybe you have no idea what it feels like to never be a part of something but find a stream that just feels like home. Maybe you have no idea what it feels like to lose family but have a community there for you more then your friends in real life. So basically keep your ignorant opinions to yourself.

The point here is, they found something their good at, and they do it, instead of hoping to do something they MIGHT be good at, or MIGHT enjoy. I would do it too, if I have the ability to do so. How are they ruining gaming, anyway? A lot of the streamers accidentally show you secrets and hidden things, and it's JUST as entertaining as television at times, but even better, most people will interact with their viewers and it's really a fun experience. So while you're crying about how your day job keeps you away from your hobby, these people making a living off of it. Stop being so judgemental, because it's players like you who are ruining the gaming industry.
