If you stream for money shame on you. Gaming should be a hobby not a job. You people begging for money make me sick. I don't know what's worse the people streaming for money or the idiots who donate to them?
While you're sitting on your ass fighting aliens you have little kids fighting cancer. Shame on you...

Never go full retard.
-
Then might as well just say the same for TV actors cause thats not a real job either, and having a music job isnt a real job either so say bye to them too. All jobs ain't meant to be hard.

I'm sorry you can't appreciate great people working their butts off to provide entertainment and a positive environment for a community they love. Maybe if you actually watched twitch you wouldn't be so ignorant as to think they don't work but still get tons of money. I'd like to see you send what you said here to a streamer that streams 8-12 hours a day every day but has never had more than 10 people in their stream because then you might realize how much of an a-hole you are.

Ill never understand why people donate but I do like to watch 'pro' or 'high rated/ranked' players in the games I play. I like to see how they play from their point of view and often times they give good advice for improving. That's literally the only thing I watch streams for, or to watch tournaments. You're being pretty closed minded, like another commenter said 'its entertainment and people pay to be entertained'. Just because it doesn't entertain you doesn't mean it doesn't entertain someone else. And for that logic I think you're a fucking moron.
-
How does this effect you?
-
This is honestly one of the most small minded posts I've seen on these forums in awhile.
-
It's entertainment and people pay to watch entertainment there's your explanation
-
actors shouldn't act because it's not a real job construction workers shouldn't build non-house things because there are homeless people farmers should stop growing food because there are obese people
-
So don't watch it. I think it's dumb, but stupid people and their money are quickly separated from each other. Let it sort itself out.
-
Excuse mind person However I want to blow my money is my business Hookers and Blow all day!!!!
-
Ever sit and watch some of these people. Yeah I know. BORING. I'd rather be playing it myself.
-
If you're good at something, never do it for free...
-
The idiots who give them money. That's the one to blame. If people don't give, then they would have to get a real job.
-
Edited by Mend0za: 6/8/2015 5:03:09 PMThe thing that blows my mind is that people donate hundreds and even thousands of dollars to some of these people. I could see donating a few dollars as a tip but that's about it.

Edited by Jwodie: 6/8/2015 5:43:28 PMI can't imagine the mindset of someone that thinks you shouldnt be able to turn your hobby or passion into a vocation you enjoy

Isn't the best part about a job that you can actually get paid to do your hobby? I don't watch streams very often and I don't know who stepped on your toe, but a comparison with kids richting van cancer? Either you put that satire tag on or you calm down :p
-
The amount of time it takes to make money gaming could probably net you a much higher income if you spent that time pursuing pretty much anything else. They must just love doing it, so you can't really bash them for that
-
Edited by Spankey_v2: 6/8/2015 5:43:19 PMConsidering no one actually begs for money. And twitch also takes almost 50% of any money that gets thrown their way Gr8 b8 m8
-
It is upsetting. As a culture we have our priorities messed up.
-
What happened to making your hobby into your job? It is something you love.
-
Not all donations go to the streamer, part goes to twitch or whatever they stream on,which can then be donated to those little kids fighting cancer. Its not all bad....
-
Edited by Exiled_Geordie: 6/8/2015 5:39:15 PMPeople watch them for entertainment, it's a lot of work to maintain that follower level. The streamers I watch don't ask for money and are extremely grateful when they get one. Hell, I'd love to play games for a living but don't have personality to address 8k viewers and keep them entertained. If you don't like them, don't watch them. Edit: They also do charity work and pull in viewers when they guest on charity streams which in turn leads to more donations. Your post smacks of jealousy.

If people are willing to pay there will always be people to take it.

Edited by EMW ZEEK: 6/8/2015 5:29:28 PMYou would hate pewdiepie then. He makes millions of dollars playing videogames and screaming at a camera.

Do professional athletes, singers/musicians and actors make you sick as well? I see those all as hobbies. I do agree with you that people who donate to streamers aren't the brightest but we all know the saying:
A fool and his money are soon parted.
