The Xur Material Exchange for Motes of Light is BROKEN and UNFAIR. The current rate of exchange: 2 Strange Coing = 1 Mote of light Only a deperate person would think this is fair and go for this. Heres my reasoning for why this is broken - From Xur: Exotic Weapons = 23 Strange Coins Exotic Armor = 13 Strange Coins Exotic Shards = 7 Strange coins Exotic Engrams = 23 Motes of light With the current echange rate, you would have to spend 46 Strange Coins to recieve 23 motes of light for the possibility of getting an item that you're going to dismantle for an exotic shard anyways, meaning you just spent 46 Strange Coins for an exotic shard that is worth 7 Strange Coins. HOW IS THAT FAIR? That said, Exotic Armor is only worth 13 strange coins so why waste the motes of light or the strange coins on motes of light to get a random exotic armor? Players can just wait for Xur to bring what they want eventually and just use the strange coins for something more worth while like heavy ammo synthesis and the motes of light for reforging weapons. The only problem with waiting is the need of Patience and Time. ;) My suggestion for a fair fix: 1 Strange Coin = 2 Motes of Light Why? Because you waste motes of light on everything from reforging weapons and buying class items and exchanging for shards with the Speaker. They dont seem all that valuable until you get to Xur and see the ridiculous exchange rate for them. I would even be okay with a 1:1 ratio for exchange. What do you think?
