How would you feel about a reputation system being implemented into the Bungie.net forum experience?
Say someone regularly posts helpful, inquisitive, interesting, not shitty posts, and they were recognized for doing so. This would create a sort of motivation to being a better poster, and could help out what some call a "dying community", at least in terms of #offtopic. This would be beneficial for other boards as well, #help for instance, someone with a good reputation is more reliable than someone without. #gaming, #destiny, #feedback, pretty much all the boards could benefit from something like this. It would also help in understanding which accounts are just throwaway alts and other #offtopic shit.
In the past, Bungie.net did have a title system, which was based off of posting frequency, tenure, and lack or amount of bans, at least to earn "mythic" it was. This sort of title system encouraged people to post more frequently, stay longer, and post less shit. Gotta mention that Zonda brought this idea up earlier, connecting it with the fact that we have an upvote/downvote system that is basically useless past the point of exiting the thread you are in. I just thought a thread could get the community's feelings about the subject, maybe raise an eye from the web team, who knows.
From Zonda:
I'd appreciate titles, but 3 years of regular activity to reach Mythic doesn't seem worth it imo. True Karma where you need to have posted at least 25 times to upvote/downvote, and you need a certain number of votes on your account to change your prefix, Votes on your activity (Posts/comments) change your suffix, and Groups allow custom steeings that can be predetermined with a format, or just admins changing them on a whim.
It would mitigate abuse with the post requirement, and give people a reason to have discussion value.
TL;DR: How would you feel about a reputation system being implemented to your Bungie.net profile? As in, more upvotes, better rep; more downvotes, worse rep.

I feel like this would vastly improve the quality of the content on this website. I'm really sick of seeing some topics and some users and I would love to be able to do something about them. However, that doesn't deter people from making alts, so IP bans might also have to come into play. Also, good reputation makes those who have it feel good. And I'm all for making people feel good.

"Posts porn" +30 renegade

How about you spend your free time actually being productive instead of coming up with stupid ideas?

Yes
mostly because I want that emblem in destiny ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Retarded posters would reign supreme.

Once upon a time we had this function. I personally felt it meant something here on Bent. The attachment to a single account meant that a single user had to built some kind of reputation to an account before that account was globally recognized as a ligament source of information or criticism. As a mod in the old B.old ages, a mythic account would warrant a quick review of the posting history before a ban. Simply due to the "trust" assigned to that account. This didn't mean that a an old "mythic" account was free from a ban...trust me I pissed off tons of old "mythic accounts" when I banned them for crossing the line. I do miss the reputation system here. I makes us "old folks" feel less appreciated. But I do understand how it helps welcome new people. All in all...I personally would love to see those old Blue Bars back. That being said...your OP doesn't warrant you having a blue bar. You better edit out your elitism, or you may find yourself down an old bar color or two yourself. FYI: Swine may have something to do with it.

I think this should be implemented.
-
I would think this would go in #Feedback...but hey, i'm on crack.
-
-
it's almost as if we should use those up/downvote buttons to actually mean something...
-
Yes I want forum rankings.
-
Nah, it couldn't work. Deej would get jealous of people who are considered better or more helpful than him, and would strike that motion down. Honestly, it could work, but i think it should have different lines of rank, like how funny they are, how helpful they are, how nice they are, etc.

I like the original idea of titles more. They rewarded users who actually stuck around, as well as avoided bans. In all honesty, I wouldn't like that particular system. Honestly, this site is enough of a popularity contest as it is. The really good users are already ignored by the vast majority of newer users, while the ones with a stupid gimmick get noticed entirely too often. I'd hate to see someone like Wiz or Anonymous get overlooked while Engrapadora gets everyone to suck his dick over a title earned entirely too easily. Yes, the gimmicks can be funny, but there shouldn't be additional recognition for shitposting 24/7.

Finally I with a title I can be sexually identified as an MLG Quickscoper.
-
Do it.
-
Rep is shit. More elitism yay! If you don't wanna see someone mute them. I'm fine with titles, but a rep counter is lame imo.
-
I think you and babygurl would be about the same reputation level...just saying
-
I actually think it would be a good idea.
-
Wats mythic
-
Nope. Don't like it. Also it took four years to get to Mythic.
-
I could appreciate a new title system with a completely revamped algorithm using up votes/down votes and whatnot.
-
-
I asked for post count. Recon then started insulting me and arguing with me for no reason about it.
