Background Grimoire: From https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/127153531/0/0/1
-Raid Boss: [spoiler]Cabal do not fight out of hatred. They fight for their strength as a species. No Cabal fights out of spite... therefore it seems one brutal leader of the Cabal is not Cabal at all, or at the least not entirely so.
There is nothing Primus Sha'aran, the Corrupted, hates more than Guardians. For much like Guardians are no typical humans- or exos, or awoken, Sha'aran is no typical Cabal. Much as Guardians serve the Light- Sha'aran is more than the opposite. Sha'aran IS an entity of darkness itself. Darkness is not only Sha'aran's shield- it is his essence. And Darkness, naturally, grudges light.
Pierce the darkness, pierce Sha'aran, with that light.

-Raid:[spoiler]Purge of Darkness: In the boldest shadow; in the blackest darkness- is when a sliver of light can be most clearly seen.
Primus Sha'aran's fortress is this shadow. He is this blackest darkness. Powerful no doubt.
Sha'arans forces have claimed the lives of many Guardians to have set foot on Mars. They show no pity, of course. Many Cabal could make such a claim. But there is something more to Sha'aran himself. Something heavier than mercilessness... something more sinister. Sha'aran is corrupt. Sha'aran IS darkness. He is a plague. Those under his command don't seem to mind, understandably. Victory is victory, no matter who or what it is earned for.
Show Sha'aran and his forces the light. Infiltrate their stronghold. Purge the darkness before it spreads.
