Why shouldn't thorn be nerfed in pvp (Resonable discussion)
Thorn is much better than every single weapon in pvp and if you believe in a balanced pvp you should want a nerf. If u don't tell me why. Please have well though out answers and no shit like 'git gud'. Be sensible

Thorn should NOT be nerfed. The only thing that could be changed, and even this I feel is wrong, would be that you can't see the DOT numbers through walls. That would be literally it.

Finishes my sloppy shooting (sarcasm lol as I am pretty accurate with headshots) with its DoT effect 2. Its damage drop off from across the map is laughable (non-existent) 3. Allows me to track my wounded opponent for a short period of time 4. Head shots + DoT = 2 - 3 hit kills Although I am against nerfs this weapon outclasses all of the OP predecessors by a long shot (figuratively and literally XD). Edit: Wow, that poll escalated quickly.

Because it isn't OP. Change the way you play. Not saying "git gud", just don't go head to head all the time. A good Thorn user shoots and takes cover. Personally, i like rolling with something that makes me spawn with a nade to counter that.

I think it needs a SLIGHT rate of fire and range nerf. Other than that, auto rifles Need a buff to compete with handcannons and pulse rifles. And fusions need a little bit more accuracy at range. No gun needs to suffer the same fate as suros

Honestly, I think every nerf should be taken away across the board. Thorn and pulse rifles can keep their buffs, bring auto rifles and fusion rifles back to their original glory and all will be good. I feel the battlefield will be much more leveled this way than it is now.

I would rather see a buff to auto rifles then a nerf to any weapon personally but something's got to give for the end game pvp content. It's a mix of the same 3-4 weapons ( thorn, TLW, and hawkmoon with the occasional red death since the vex was nerfed again). If they nerfed the thorn I would be happy with the dot stopping when you kill the thorn user.

Thorn isn't really that good. It only works in certain situations like any other hand cannon.

1 ReplyBecause if you nerf it, there's no real reason to use Thorn over TLW or most any other legendary hand cannon in the game. Go the other way, make the other weapons more competitive. The auto rifle nerf IMO put more Thorns into the crucible than the powers and capabilities of the weapon did.

Notting worse than winning a gun fight and then having the DoT kill you. Also the range is a joke on that gun.

4 Replies1. My solution for the nerf is one of 2 things. Either Mark of the devourer only triggers on precision shots, or the damage that the DOT does be reduced from 7 to 5. Either way i think that would be reasonable and not really be much of a nerf.

Just increase the recoil, most people using it are bad anyways. Make it harder to land consecutive headshots just by spray and pray (fire rate is high).

2 RepliesI hope the someone makes a thorn that burns a brain cell in a person's head that uses the gun. It should be "A chance to burn your enemies not ALL THE TIME" I can never have fun in Destiny anymore!!! Me and my friends are making a group called "Thorn Disappoints". Seriously I'm about to lose my mind over something that shouldn't matter.

Whoever designed hawkmoon should remedy thorn. Unless that's the same person.
