Why shouldn't thorn be nerfed in pvp (Resonable discussion)
Thorn is much better than every single weapon in pvp and if you believe in a balanced pvp you should want a nerf. If u don't tell me why. Please have well though out answers and no shit like 'git gud'. Be sensible

I think that the thorn is the most annoying gun in the game but it requires skill to obtain the gun and it could be the only gun that you could use to get into lobbies. I use my Gjallporn

Also those stats compiled by a random person and not assured to be 100% correct show that the last word is the far superior weapon in crucible. It has the fastest ttk by quite a huge margin.

1 ReplyI believe that hand cannons in general need a range nerf, i have out sniped snipers with the thorn and the last word at times and that gun is supposed to have no range at all. im okay with the 2-3 shot kills at the their intended effective ranges but being able to challenge ARs, scouts and snipers at range and winning the engagement is just too much.

I think that thorn is pretty balanced when you compare it to everything else out there in pvp. Besides if they nerf thorn everyone will find a new gun to hate in pvp like TLW, Red Death or some other gun with good perks. PvP will always have imbalances as long as it is tied to PvE as heavily as it is.

2 RepliesI'm sitting here and my I normally out gun thorn users with my vanguard pluse rifle so I don't see the problem, sure dot's a b***h but it generally doesn't kill me except for one rare occasions

9 RepliesNothing should be nerfed, auto rifles should be restored to what they were and everything else stays the same. The only reason thorn is op now is because they took away all the better alternatives.

2 RepliesI think a poll should be taken on the amount of polls with the the subject of: Thorn is too OP Thorn Bounty is too hard For every poll bleating about the difficulty of the PvP portion of the Thorn Bounty - there's six people using it in a 12 person match. I'm genuinely surprised that there are so many people using it when there's so many people decrying the difficulty of the bounty itself. The Thorn is not the problem with PvP, but the instance on linking PvE with PvP is. If PvP had scaled and balanced weapons that were for PvP only - half the forum topics wouldn't exist. People who complain about a weapon in PvP - Bungie takes action and weapon is neutered. Those who play PvE with the now neutered weapon (I. E Auto Rifle) say "what the firetruck, this thing is now useless" - *crickets chirping*

I never used my thorn. Then when they buffed it I had to start using it just to be remotely competitive. It's an absolute beast. Not auto win though cos I still suck with or without it

The only time I ever die from thorn is a direct hit.... Never from the poison. It is extremely easy to counter, trust me. You all just have to learn how.

Damage per shot wasn't the problem before, so it shouldn't be now. The problem before was that the weapon in PvE was pretty useless. You'd get a couple kills with the small mag, then spend what felt like days reloading. Those two items from the buff were the two biggest game changers for PvE because the shots per min drastically increased. Increasing kick would be a small nerf for PvE but pretty substantial for pvp because it would be more difficult to land consecutive shots quickly. With this in mind people will need to take more time between shots therefore increasing the ttk. I loved the weapon in pvp before the nerf, but now it's a bit crazy. Biggest fear is Bungie seeing these "nerf this" posts and they just take the almighty nerf cannon a little too far, making my old favorite unviable (just look at all auto rifles, suros in particular)
