discussion and thoughts on the adding of ''Additional Matchmaking Options'' to the wish list and hopefully the game:
I am unsure as to what it means, it does not sound like matchmaking in all activities, looks to be pointing to current matchmaking lists, could it mean the addition of solo and private modes for both pvp and pve, could it just be there to appease those who wished for matchmaking in all activities and that it will only appear in the next game or could it be genuine and be for all activities in one of the next DLC's?
if you have suggestions on a layout for matchmaking please share it with us here or support any layout's you like the sound of or mine
these would be the optionas in the setting screen, you can change them at anytime during an activity:
Private = solo (make it a challenge)
Match made = random's with random's, you can bring your own team (you understand you may fail)
Pre-made = chose your own team, it can also be solo (you want victory no matter what or a greater
challenge)
Level restrictions and requirements:
Strikes: Private and Match made fireteams
Crucible: Pre-made and Match made (custom matches come under Pre-made)
Weekly Strike: multiple level selections, Private, Pre-made and Matchmade
Nightfall: unlocked at character lv30, minimum lv30, private, pre-made and matchmade
Iron Banner: Match made (no private)
ToO: unlocks at character lv33, Pre-made fireteams of 3 only
PoE lv28: unlocks with character lv28, Private, Pre-made and Match made
PoE lv32: unlocks with character lv32 and clear of lv28, Private, Pre-made and Match made
PoE lv34: unlocks with character lv34 and clear of lv32, Private, Pre-made and Match made
PoE lv35: unlocks with character lv34 and clear of lv34, Private, Pre-made fireteams only
VoG normal: unlocks with character lv26, Pre-made and Match made
VoG Hard: unlocks with character lv30 and full clear of normal, Pre-made and Match made
CE normal: unlocks with character lv30, Pre-made and Match made
CE Hard: unlocks with character lv32 and full clear of normal, Pre-made and Match made
with all Matchmaking, you will be grouped with players of the same rank or up to 1 level difference for that activity, those who drop below the minimum required rank will be kicked and returned to orbit (yes that includes changing of gear) with a penalty (maybe 10 minutes without matchmaking access) and this is one I made up, player's can vote out Afk'ers/trolls/useless gamers by simply pointing at them (requires only 3 players to point), it also means you wont be paired up with them again for 24 hours(they also receive a harsher penalty of 1 hour no matchmaking access), if your booted because of connection problems it would attempt to add you to that group or another group at your checkpoint, matchmaking would fill any open slots with players who have reached the same checkpoint as the group
checkpoints take on a critical role in the match made system, so you would never loose your progress
please tell me what you think?

What does it mean that "Additional matchmaking options" was added to the list? It means that Bungie has formally acknowledged that many in the community want additional matchmaking options. It does not (necessarily) reflect their priorities, intentions, or any sort of promise, as outlined in the post itself. It is simply Bungie saying "yes, we heard you."

If one makes themselves valuable to a potential team finding parties is very easy. People that want and need mm Imo want to be paired and carried "helped" threw events. Mm 99% of the time is a let down.

I agree with the vote to kick, but there needs to be penalties for false kicks for those that are not AFK/acting like douche bags. Otherwise ppl will be bully kicked only so the bullies can eventually get whom they may be after. I am all for optional MM, but there has to be guidelines set in place to prevent bully kicks, and consequences for false kicks, like 1-2 hour suspension for first offense, 3-4 hours second offense, all day next offense, and eventually ending up in a full ban.

Absolutely nothing

Edited by The Dark Hadou: 6/3/2015 12:19:05 PMI'd be happy if they just added MM to NFs, level 32 PoE, normal VoG and normal CE. In each case, you wouldn't be able to enter MM unless your level was at least the same as the activity (so 32, 32, 26 and 30 respectively). For raids, you'd keep checkpoints like you do at the moment and would be able to re-enter MM at that checkpoint, in case you didn't have time to finish the activity, and get matched up with people doing the same. For NFs, when you wiped you'd get an option to party up or return to orbit (much like you could choose to party up in H3's MM). This would let them trial MM with content that we can all be over-levelled for and, if it's a success, they can think of implementing it for the "harder" content.

It means you people need to shut up about it and stop spamming the forums

As there's always that possibility of implementing optional matchmaking, I have feeling it was added to the list to reduce the spamming of these forums and to tell you what you want to hear. Don't count on seeing optional matchmaking or in-game LFG, at the very least, anytime soon.
-
I would prefer that by default there is no matchmaking, except in the crucible, and have an option for matchmaking in all content. I loved to lone wolf the Weekly Heroic Strike except that's not possible anymore. It's also no fun since there is no story matchmaking.

Additional is terrible, we don't want more options to always get stuck with scrubs, but we do need optional match making.

Here are the most frequent community wishes for Destiny: -Transmogrification -Private Crucible Matches -Gun Skins -Guardian Facial Hair -Vault Sorting Options -Crucible Map Voting -Expanding Faction Interaction -Aim Assist Toggle Option -Rotating Stock on Tower Vendors -Dismantle Consumable Items -Additional Matchmaking Options ....we're screwed.
-
To me, it's nothing more than recognition of the issue as the things posted on that list have been there for a while.
-
It means they want everyone to quit spamming the forums, simple as that. And it worked, for the most part. There will be no matchmaking added to Destiny. They won't add it unless they are a forced to. Bungie doesn't give a -blam!- that millions of people cannot access the content that they purchased.

Added to wishlist.... Open your hands Wish into one hand, shit into the other. See which fills up first.
