Religion only serves as deadweight to scientific progress. Attempting to ensure science "agrees with the word of God" is counterproductive. The Bible or any religious text cannot be supported by science, as religious claims tend to be unfalsifiable/untestable and therefore pseudoscientific. Science cannot and does not support the existence of any specific deity; I have yet to see any legitimate claims to the contrary. Any time I ask for evidence of God/scientific support of His existence, I am met with

B. "Since scientists have not yet formulated an explanation for [i]X[/i], God is real."
C. "I am 100% certain teleology/causality applies to areas we don't understand yet, so there must be a designer of the universe, and that creator is undoubtedly my God. Also, my God is self-generated and is exempt from the argument I'm putting forward."[/b]
