We're adding Matchmaking to the Wish List thread to acknowledge the request that has been made by many of you. You have my personal assurances that the design teams know you want it. They've seen the conversation.
My comments about using your time here to make friends and play games were an attempt to provide ideas for immediate solutions to the issue of needing people to play with. I'm not here to invalidate anyone's opinion, but I do have my own experiences with with building teams to play games together. If I could move one of you closer to taking matchmaking into your own hands, it would be worth the scorn.
As for deliberate forum censorship on the part of anyone at Bungie? I can guarantee that these things are not happening. The algorithms that sort forum topics do their own thing. The only time we influence that is when one of you is violating the code of conduct.

So if the programmers have seen the conversation, what do they have to say about it? Why can't you or wont you tell us what they are thinking regarding MM? What is their reasonings behind only allowing it on certain events? Last I checked, the weekly heroic didn't collapse under the recently added MM. Are they flexible? Are they bending? Is it a coding issue or strictly a philosophical decision? Why do i so enjoy banging my head against a wall?
-
It's no coincidence that it's all the activities that let you level up that don't have match making. They don't want people to progress easily.
-
No its not the ib has match making. As for ToO and the nightfall I can understand these not having it.
-
Iron banner, a week long grind for 2 light. Get the -blam!- on.
-
The point is still the same it dose have match making. ToO and nightfall make sense not having MM. Lfg groups have problems beating full premade teams. As for nightfalls all it would take to get sent to orbit is that one guy running ahead in to the darkness zone and getting him self killed. Then you go back to orbit and have to try again with a completely different team.
-
It being optional means that it would have no impact on your life at all.
-
Right like the optional MM for the weekly.
-
Yep, and I'll never understand why.
-
Because it slows progress. We've all had nights where we couldn't play something we wanted for want of a team or missed a reset as a result. It stretches out their scant content. It's -blam!-ing shameless crap and they should -blam!-ing shove their knighting of the noobs sword right up the ass of the person who thought it was a good idea.

A fair response, thank you Deej. Cheers

Great work DeeJ, I know I have poked you in the ribs somewhat over this topic ( maby even got a bit cruel) but would like to thank you for validating our requests. And taking the time to reply. Also special shout outs go to Lost Sols for his work on editing thread posts and keeping the debate fresh and ongoing, and for that matter everyone who took part in the debate on this hot topic pat yourselfs on the back everyone of you without all our posts and efforts this whould have been nothing. And to all who have followed this topic and those that have not. Lets not get caught up in what has or has not gone on in the past and be happy that we have made ground. Now lets look forward to the FUTURE

Agreed

Thank you Deej.

DeeJ - thanks for acknowledging the issue

Would that be similar to an algorithm that determines Zurs "random" stock? You guys wouldn't have to do so much damage control if you would just be honest and respectful to your customers, instead of constantly lying and telling your remaining player base that you know whats best for them. You have, and continue to do this to yourselves. Very good effort to put a stop to the MM posts, quite a few people took the bait it would seem. Even if you guys swallowed your pride (a rarity I know) and added optional MM, it still doesn't fix Destin'y core problem: excessive grinding to hide the absence of real content. I took me a while to see what you guys were doing, but its clever. Stringing people along, one tiny patch/update at a time to keep them distracted. Very clever. I wonder if Activision feels that Destiny and it's reception thus far has been a good half billion dollar investment?...

Thank you DeeJ

Another "we hear you", but no one is listening to you post. Thanks
-
Wow dude. Be grateful.
-
It's a step in the right direction that they're talking about it. It's disturbing as hell that so much of what he said are straight lies.
-
I'll give you an example. Read the community wish list. The fourth item down was the first addition to the list after the initial post. There were mountains of suggestions that week and that is what he added to the list. Thats a perfect example of why I don't believe they are listening.
-
You must be relatively new to the conversation?
-
No, in fact I've been monitoring it. Stop your pissing and moaning already, it's classless and moronic. You guys have been making a a commendable effort and it's got you somewhere atleast, and I'm glad it did. But this just makes you look like an ungrateful prick.
-
If they weren't asking us for our opinions I would agree with you. Its that fact that they are asking us for our opinions and then not doing anything about it, that is so frustrating.

I would like to thank deej for a more detailed response than we have received so far in relation to matchmaking, this kind of engagement is a vital link between the devs and our very passionate community just like further matchmaking however flawed will link players together.
